ine, I'm a strong Christian but am choosing not to see the movie.

Not sure if I will in the future but maybe?

I'm very sensitive and having spoke to online friends and also in

person to local friends who have seen it. Due to the level of the violence and

blood, etc...

I would about freak me out! I highly respect what Mel Gibson has done

in this movie and have no doubt that his depiction of the brutality of

the crucifixtion is completely accurate, I'm just choosing to not try

to watch that at this time. I'm glad he made such a movie and that it's

opening up a lot of people's hearts and minds.

I'm 14 weeks pg and don't need to spaz out and deliver on the spot!!!

Hugs,

LeAnn

Has anyone seen the new Mel Gibsons movie " Passions " ? I was just

wondering how you felt about the movie. What you got out of it?

LeAnn,

I am exactly the same. I am a dedicated Christian but I don't really

choose to see it for the same reasons. I have a hard enough time as

Having seen " Passion " ...I can tell you if you are bothered by

violence, blood and/or seeing Jesus as the person on the receiving

end...DON'T SEE THIS MOVIE!!! It is extremely brutal and bloody.

Especially do not let children see this movie. I think a teenager,

who is mature enough, may understand...but then I even wonder about

that!

If you are Christian and can't grasp just what Jesus did for you, go

see this and then increase what He went through because I am sure

that they couldn't get everything on screen.

It's not a movie that you go for the enjoyment of seeing a movie.

It's not for " entertainment " . It's like an intense version of Bible

study. It is something that when you are leaving the movie you feel

a special reverence that feels more like how one feels upon leaving

church.

I do highly recommend seeing it, however. If you can handle it.

Seeing it or not seeing it doesn't mean anything about your

character or your love for Him. For, you can read much of the New

Testament and understand the message.

Blessings,

Charlene

LeAnn,

Very good reason for not going to see it right now!! It will come out

in DVD in another year or so -- try it then!! I feel the same way you do. I

have watched all of the articles and the controversy, and I do respect Mel

Gibson. However, because of my sensitive nature, and the fact that I cry at the

drop of the hat at movies, ...i.e. ANY movie; I doubt seriously whether I should

even attempt to see such violent scenes as it would probably hurt me too bad

emotionally. I know, I'm a wimp!! Love & hugs, PJ
