One of the happiest days of my life was the day my son learned to swallow a

pill. Before that, it was a living he@#$ to try to hide it in food or liquid

to get him to take it. Nothing I tried worked. I can remember almost sitting

on top of him holding his hands down (to keep him from hitting me) and

trying to pop a pill down his throat. Ah, those were the days (NOT!)

Now we need to teach him to shave. Seems like the pill battle was only

yesterday!

Oh...and he also takes melatonin to help him sleep....never had any side

effects. Sometimes it works okay, and sometimes it does nothing. Go figure.

I'm always amazed how so many of you all go through the same thing I go through

or have gone through. It helps when you feel like you are all alone in this

difficult chore called autism. Thanks just for being there and sharing.

Reminding us we're not alone and that there is always hope.
