Guest guest
I intentionally tred very lightly ... like walking on thin ice ... Humor is a complex issue at all times. Someone famous (I think it was Groucho Marx) once said that all jokes must hurt someone otherwise they are not funny. Consider that a moment and think of most good jokes you know and likely they could be thought of as hurtful to someone, or would not be appropriate to say to some people due to high probability of offending. Take the complexity of humor in general, add the layers upon layers of complexity related to issues surrounding death penalties and the " famous recent execution " and you have conditions for potentially incredibly offensive humor ... but on the other side of the same coin, many people may see it as potentially incredibly funny. The division will be based on where the viewer stands on any of many different issues/perspectives. So, Annie, roll with it and let the humor slide. Or, if you wish, write a letter speaking out about what you feel may be inappropriate as perhaps the humor " went over the decency line " for you ... that's the coolest thing about the USA, you can say what you want (perhaps no one will listen, but you can say it!). I can only hope these words help in some way... and don't offend. Tim -- Malia, MD Malia Family Medicine & Skin Sense Laser 6720 Pittsford-Palmyra Rd.
