Guest guest
There are Dan! doctors in Spain and Italy that could possibly treat your child, and they are much closer than anyone in the US! We're in Belgium and see Dr. Clavera in Barcelona and a friend of ours Dr. Verzella in Bologna. Dr. Clavera is supervising our Valtrex/Diflucan adventure... Dr Verzella speaks very good English. Go to www.autismresearchinstitute.org and look at the Dan! doctors list... Hope this helps > > Hi! Guest guest
You know, if you can get enough people interested in seeing a DAN! Dr. you might be able to get Dr. Badr (Egypt) to come there (Morocco) as an Outreach Clinic through Great Plains Labs.CherylI forgot to add that there is a very good one in Egypt, too.CherylThere is also one in Nigeria and in South Africa.CherylHi! Guest guest
Thank you and Cheryl;trying to get the Dan Egyptian Doc Badr to Morocco is interesting...I wonder if you have his address Cheryl,I may ssuggest that to him.. We're trying to do ABA and PECS for our kids in class(it's in a public school in Salé;Salé is a city very close to Rabat the capital;I think that a partnership with an association having experience in the field of Education of Autistic children may be of great help to us so if anyone is interested... Guest guest
Nafissa, IMO the best thing any parent can do for their child (because they are all so different) is educate yourself. Many doctors (even in the US) don't know the link between autism and the gut. Many of us living here have gone through many doctors in search of one that will make a difference in our childs life. It is difficult, but our children depend upon us. I do not know your availability to certain books etc....I am just going to rattle off my thoughts. Others may have different views. The first thing I would advise is READ...IMO Top Five books are: "Children with Starving Brains" Jaquelyn McCandless, MD; "The Second Brain" Gershon MD; Autism: Effective Biomedical Treatments Jon Pangborn PhD and Sidney Baker MD;"The Puzzle of Autism: Putting it all Together" Dr Amy Yasko and Dr Garry Gordon; "Biological Treatments for Autism and PDD" Shaw PhD ALL these books confirm the link between autism and the gut. Next....if you cannot find a doctor, to go through a reliable lab, to run tests you can always contact Great Plains (they work directly with parents) They have a website. I would run a stool test and an amino acids test. You can also go through Amy Yasko's website www.holisticheal.com or www.holistichealth.com to order supplements and tests. She will write her suggestions on the test (they are expensive but if you are in need of a doctors opinion, this is an option) There are many natural antifungals that you can try to clear up gut issues but my thoughts are...it is easier to find out what is going on with your particular child. Find out what bugs are lurking in there...because there are hundreds of differents kinds, in all of us. Ugh...gotta run. Others can chime in. Hope this helps. Good luck! >> Hi! Guest guest
Hossam Badr, M.D. 18, Mahgob Sabet St., App 10 Agoza Giza Egypt ph: +2010 6889119, +97150 4561488You will probably want to contact Great Plains Labs since they are the people that actually organize and provide the Outreach Clinics worldwide and I'm guessing they would ask Dr. Badr to do it since he is the closest practitioner but you may very well get one from the states or somewhere else. Anyone you get from GPL will be highly respected but if you would prefer Dr. Badr, I would put that in the notes section. I've heard good things about Dr. Badr from another list. The owner of that list is good friends with the family. He became a DAN! because his son is autistic. You can contact GPL for an Outreach Clinic here:  http://www.greatplainslaboratory.com/survey2/index.html CherylOn Sep 9, 2007, at 3:44 AM, nafissa eddnadni wrote:Thank you and Cheryl;trying to get the DanEgyptian Doc Badr to Morocco is interesting...I wonderif you have his address Cheryl,I may ssuggest that tohim..We're trying to do ABA and PECS for our kids inclass(it's in a public school in Salé;Salé is a cityvery close to Rabat the capital;I think that apartnership with an association having experience inthe field of Education of Autistic children may be ofgreat help to us so if anyone is interested...Nafissa__________________________________________________________ Ne gardez plus qu'une seule adresse mail ! Guest guest
<http://www.autism.com/index.htm> ---> Defeat Autism NOW! ---> List of clinicians; but this list is not checked by DAN! they don't have the money to spare to police the list, yet. We have to do that ourselves: see Cheryl's personal recommendation for //Hossam Badr, M.D./ <http://www.autismwebsite.com/practitioners/foreign/Hossam_Badr,_M.D..html>/ ARI has posted an interview with Dr. Jepson about his book: http://www.autism.com/danwebcast/index.htm#interviews <http://www.autism.com/danwebcast/index.htm#interviews> Googling " Jepson amazon " brings up: Amazon.com: Changing the Course of Autism: A Scientific Approach ... Amazon.com: Changing the Course of Autism: A Scientific Approach for Parents and Physicians: Books: Jepson, , Jane by Jepson ... <www.amazon.com/ Changing-Course-Autism-Scientific-Physicians/dp/1591810612> - 184k - That is 5 + 1 = 6 good books to start with. Then to fill in more recent developments there conferences <http://www.zenworksproductions.com/> On DVD or downloadable. The conferences listed today have all been presented; the DVD's and downloads are mostly in place. Several times a year a new conference comes up and you can visit by Ztv webcast. Eg. ABA training in addition to, perhaps in synergy with, HBOT will be in one of the conferences but not in the books, just yet... *DAN!* conferences are free, or by donation: <http://www.autism.com/dan/index.htm> ---> Various biomedical treatments. <http://store.autism.com/> Printed Conference Proceedings. <http://www.childrenscornerschool.com/recoveries.htm> too, has videos that help bring the subject to life... irishup2 wrote: > > Nafissa, > > IMO the best thing any parent can do for their child (because they are > all so different) is educate yourself. Guest guest
Nafissa, If you want to find a DAN contact ARI. Some DAN’s are working internationally. I live in Belgium (Europe) and we work with Dr O’Hara who’s in Connecticut. We saw her once for the initial consult (she traveled to England) and the rest we do by e-mail and with our local pediatrician. If you are representing an autism association they might be interested as they are trying to spread the DAN movement to other countries. I know there are also a few DAN’s in Italy (Franco Verzella) and France (Corine Skorupka (so you might consider traveling there). The lab to test the metals is Laboratoire Philippe Auguste (Paris, still closer than Great Plains). Maybe your association could invite a DAN to explain/train doctors in your country? Try contacting Steve Edelson see ARI’s website. For the rest I totally agree with irishup2 Good luck Senta Nafissa, IMO the best thing any parent can do for their child (because they are all so different) is educate yourself. Guest guest
Some of the conferences online or on DVD have sections for medical practitioners. <http://www.autism.com/danwebcast/index.htm> <http://www.zenworksproductions.com/> That would give local groups and doctors a head start?
