Re: suggestions for treating sinusitis

Years past I had sinus surgery. Thereafter sinus infections occurred

often. The various antibiotics prescribed and taken to treat these

infections were sometimes a cause of more discomfort than the infection

itself, and the sinusitis always returned. Then I found Echinacea and

no longer needed to make visits to the doctor. Echinaea was a real

god-send, up until my body started reacting against the frequent use of

it. Around that time I started to take Garlic regularily and discovered

that Garlic stopped the sinusitis from occurring. I still continue with

this today, only taking Echinacea those rare times when I do still get

sinusitis (like from breathing in too much dust). Perhaps this

experience will be of help to some others here.

Simon Bone, foremost herbalist in Australia, has extensive documentation that

this is a myth, based on misinterpretations of faulty studies. The native

Americans used echinacea constantly and its activity never faltered.

The only echinacea that's potent has a tingling/numbing effect on the tongue. If

a tincture doesn't do this for you, the preparation is worthless.

Guy, for years I have consistently used garlic capsules that are

" allicin-rich " and " odorless " , thus effective and still permitting some

social interaction. ;-) In my experience garlic is widely effective

for the prevention/elimination of respiratory ailments. A notable

exception was a debilitating and prolonged bout with Walking Pneumonia

(probably Mycoplasma pneumoniae). After that experience I ordered Jim

Bare's manual and constructed a Rife/Bare system.

Yes I know what you mean about the tingly sensation on the tongue..I

once grew about 3500 plants in my green house as an

experiment.Good info on the possible extention of use without its

activity faltering.I have not had the oppertunity

to experience this since I have never been that sick, but I will inform

myself.
