I must admit not paying close attention to the posts regarding your niece's

cough, so maybe this has been previously covered.

But is it possible she has varriant cough asthsema-? My onset of this condition

began with a bad cold and afterwards I literally coughed for 11 months straight,

without any of the doctors I saw successfully diagnosing my condition. I lost

close to 12 pounds. I was often exhausted from coughing and even had back spasms

occassionally from it. The only time I didn't cough was when I slept. I had no

wheezing sounds, which may be why several doctors missed it. One doctor declared

it a pyschogical problem and suggested psychotherapy.

Anyway finally a doctor knew what it was and prescribed Betamethoscone (sp)

which I take everyday and my cough disappeared in less than a week. I have tried

discontinuing the meds, but after a few days, I start coughing again.

I can only imagine how hard this has been for your niece.

Hello all...Happy New Year.

I am wondering if any of you would know about rules and regulations regarding

grade retention. My niece has been out of school now for 2 months. She is in

honors classes and is an honor roll student. She is dealing with this habit

cough as well as extreme anxiety. Adding to her anxiety now is the fact that she

thinks she will have to stay back. She hasn't been able to work with the tutor

at all, so she is just missing everything.

Once she gets better if she works with the tutor and maybe does summer school,

will she still have to stay back??? She is in 8th grade and would be starting

high school next year.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

HERES A FUNNY ONE: My PDD daughter told my husband that she is a woman now.

Well his eyes bug out of his head and he looks at me like, " uh is there something

I should know " He asked her what makes her think that and she said, " well, I

have boobs and a phone so that makes me a woman " . I guess it's as good an answer

as any.
