Guest guest
Hi, I don't post often, but I felt compelled to pass this on. You all may have heard about this already, but just in case... We just had our daughter, , fitted for a Project Lifesaver tracking bracelet. It is a waterproof - wristwatch-like device that can be worn on the arm or in 's case, (she bangs her arms too much) the ankle. It takes 6-8 weeks to arrive but we finally received it 2 weeks ago after having it ordered in July. If she wanders away, we call a phone number (the participating Sheriff's office contact) and they use a device to locate her assigned frequency. This device can save time and manpower when a loved one with a disability such as Alzheimers or Autism wanders away. They don't have " predictable " movements. See the website link below for more information. We had to wait for our County Sheriff's office to participate and we had to come up with the $250.00 (approx) fee for the device, but it will be worth it to give her one more shot in her favor for being found. We test the device every day and the Sheriff's dept. comes out once a month to change the battery. It is almost impossible to remove (for the wearer), however, it could of course be cut off by someone. Still, it is one more thing to help locate her. http://www.projectlifesaver.org/site/ I am SO thankful all of our prayers were answered and is safe. I pray we never have to use the device, but is a " runner " and extremely clever and once she gets an idea, she will stop at nothing to accomplish it. She runs like gazelle. I feel like it is always a matter of " when " rather than " if " ..... Patty in Indiana
