Guest guest Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 Well, can't remember what I last said. My doc thinks definitely simple/complex partial seizures. I began anticonvulsant med a little over a week ago. I have to get bloodwork done in about another week, probably will up my dosage. I have to say I feel in some ways better than in a long time. I can't really explain it except I feel more " here " and less " there " . I wonder if I had something perhaps subclinical going on more than I realized. Since starting the anticonvulsant my handwriting has improved and my eye that was drooping has, for the most part stopped. I read that there can be weakness in affected area just before or following a seizure. The droop was in the same eye where it always started, wondering if I was on the verge of having them more often than I realized. I've had 3 known events, one of those we aren't certain if I fell asleep or went unconscious. So, I've ordered a med alert bracelet. Also, they never happened with the girls were awake, thankfully, but I've had a talk with my oldest about how if mommy starts jerking and not talking that it's all okay, just to call 9-1-1 and know I'll stop. She seems cool with it, but I still hated having to tell her such a scary thought. I try to keep my cellphone with me at all times and charged, just in case. I still feel wierd saying, " I have a seizure disorder. " I guess because it wasn't picked up on the EEG or MRI. Maybe some of it is the planet denial. At any rate, I have a new respect for those of you with seizure disorders and those of you whose children have seizures. I know how I work hard to take meds the same time, I also know how stressed I'd feel if I were trying to get my child to take it on time. Debi Quote
