It wasn't a horror story BUT I did break out with a very uncomfortable

red itcy rash on my upper body after the 2nd injection. I was

instructed not to take anymore. It has been 2 weeks since the

injection and you can still see the bumps under my skin on my arms and

still itches alot.

Right now, Humeri weekly, and 12.5 of predisone daily, and Lexapro, and ultrcet

for pain. But i know things will be changing when i see doc first week of June.

We talked about MTX last visit. She is concerned because humeri no longer seems

strong enough, and i have interstercial fibrosis of the lungs (RA in lungs).

I am curently on Humira. When I took the first injection the needle was so

dull I had a huge bruise on my stomach. It burned like acid going in to the

skin. But the next day I had lots of energy!! and that lasted for 4 days!!

I was happy then it wore off and the pain and fatigue hit like a brick wall.

I only take Humira every two weeks and my doc refuses to increase it to

weekly due to risk for infection.

After the second shot I ended up with serious lung problems. I had cytokine

storm or severe post viral lung syndrome. I thought it was going to kill

me. I was soo sick. My rheummy was no help. He basicly told me take my meds

if I felt the need after he has instructed me to stop all meds if I got sick.

So two weeks of oral steriods, inhaled steriods and asthma meds, plus some

oral meds I was only way to recovery. It took two months to feel better.

The whole time I was off meds.

Then I took the next Humira shot!!! OMG it was horrible. It burned for two

days!!!!! I had a HUGE bruise and red hard lump the size of a baseball on

my stomach!! Then I had 4 days of horrible fatigue and pain..worst than on

no meds...along with 4 days of terrible nausea, dizziness, and headache. I

was on a school trip with my kids...thank god we were on the bus home when it

hit!!!

I tried to tell my doc and he would not listen. So I have not taken another

shot since then. WE have a new rheummy coming to town in July and I will

wait to see what he says. My old one has turned out to be yet another quack!
