Kayrn,

This sounds wonderful. So, do you show your son the video? If so, how

often.

Matt learns many things by video. It is a format that is always

consistent in response, and he loves it. I have never thought of videoing

him doing what I want him to do. He is also a kid who, how did you put

it, " is very dependent on adults in his environment to assist him in

maintaining his self control (in other words an adult always needs to be

next to him or he will do something that he shouldn't). " WHat a nice

way to say this. I have had a problem getting people to understand that

someone needs to be within arm's reach of Matt, or something bad will

happen. Glad we arent' the only ones. Please tell us more about using

videos.

A video tape to recored their kid. Neat, last year when I co-uped in an

autistic classroom they had to use a video tape on a child for like a week.

Her name was and she's I think in 3rd grade now. Well anyways about

the video. Her medication was changed totally, and she wasn't the way that

she normally was. She was not doing her work, she refussed to do anything.

She had to check her schudule everytime she finished something, and

sometimes she didn't want to and sometimes she'd switch the items that were

on her schudule. The teacher had to keep writting in inapporiate behaviors

on a sheet. I think she was in time out the most out of all the children.

I think she was in time out like 5 times a day. So about a few days with

and her misbehaving, they began to video tape her.

From,
