Guest guest
Hi , I've been on Sustiva for a few years (3-4?), and still have that cloudy feeling in my mind. Sustiva is one of the few HIV meds that penetrate the blood-brain barrier, so I suppose the effects are a good sign that it is doing its job. Also, I take my Sustiva on an empty stomach right at bedtime. Food increases the amount of Sustiva that goes into you. My pharmasist said take either on empty stomach or with a very light, no fat snack.Congratulations on the undetectable count! I'm finding that after finally reaching undetectable, if you take the meds on time, every time, as prescribed, undetectable is a gift you'll enjoy for years. Unfortunately, in years past, I wasn't 100% compliant and had resistance to all meds 5 years ago. I learned the lesson, and I take my meds religiously because I've been undetectable 4 years now. Again, congratulations on your undetectable viral load! Rhino88 wrote: Well after three months on Sustiva, I am now officially undetectable. I went from 140,000 to 264 to 64 to undetectable.Ishould be ecstatic (and I was wehn I got the news). But I still get recurring "Sustiva blues". Sometimes I barely notice being on the drug at all and it doesn't seem to affect me and I'm as happy as a clam and other days (like today) it takes me until 1pm to stop feeling drunk and slightly depressed. I can't figure out the pattern. sometimes on a full stomach, sometimes empty.Anyways, I can tolerate it. One friend said it took him a whole year to be rid of the last of the "cloudiness" in his mind from sustiva. What experiences have others had? SEIZE THE DAY! Guest guest
Hi, , A very good friend of mine had similar experiences with Sustive. He found that taking two pills for the one that would be the normal dose worked for him. IE: if the regular dose is one 600 mg pill, then my friend took two 300 mg pills together at his regular time. We have the same doctor and none of us knew why something like this could make a difference. It just did for him.
