Guest guest
Hi folks... had a question I thought I would throw out... I know it may differ from state to state, even county to county. I am wondering what if any requirements there are for Early Childhood Special Ed to provide regular updates? I am getting the annual IFSP but haven't received any other written progress of individual sessions or classroom sessions for at least 6-8 months. I am frustrated at the lack of communication and follow through from my local ESD. Love the therapists, but otherwise frustrated. I saw more breakthrough with my son in one private session with a speech therapist than I saw in a year with ESD. I realize that 1:1 is always the best but am frustrated as I feel I have asked for speech/language before and been shot down. Ooops, guess I needed to vent a little and not just ask a question!! We also have been asking for a PECS book for AWHILE!!! I sent pictures of all important family members almost two months ago now and haven't seen the book! They sent home a placemat for mealtimes and we have seen huge progress in communicating at mealtimes. Can only imagine what will happen when we finally get the whole system!!!
