Guest guest
Check with your pediatrician, but my son takes 2 mg. of sustained-released melatonin and it really helps him sleep through the night. We had tried the regular melatonin at first, although would sleep longer, he would still wake up during the night. The sustained-released formula enables him to sleep without waking up. There are several brands- we have used Natrol and Puritans Pride- both decent brands. Good luck, To: @...: christine1223@...: Sat, 2 Feb 2008 08:29:23 -0600Subject: melatonin my six year old is not sleeping through the night again :-( she's about 41 lbs. I remember someone saying on this list the max of Melatonin you can give a child that size was around 3mg. is that right? i have 1 mg. right now and its not working. Can someone tell me if they know for sure how much i can give her? Also, my Melatonin expired Jan. 08, do you think i can still use it or should i get some more. Thanks. Guest guest
: Tori has always gotten 3 ml liquid...or a 3 mg. tablet. Just remember the tablets are time released. She is 8 and weighs 53.5 lbs. Liz melatonin Hi all. I finally have an appt. with the Neurologist this coming Monday to discuss Haylee not sleeping through the night. I have used Melatonin in the past but never up to 3 mg. before and it did not help. Well, at the beginning of this week i decided to crush up 3mg. of Melatonin and give it to her before bed and shes been sleeping all night! Do any of you use 3mg. or higher for your kids? Haylee is almost 7 and weighs 40 lbs. Im still going to keep my appt. becuase you know she will start waking up again if i cancel
