Guest guest
Dr. Ralph and Eddie White make some excellent points about older athletes. As I get older I am always concerned about over training. Would the both of you please give us some great tips to prevent over training? I have been cycling my workouts - if I go heavy one week, then I back off the next week on that same exercise and go light. I have been cycling moderate, heavy, and light workouts to prevent over training. When I was in my 20s I could go heavy and moderate all the time; no light workouts. I still believe that older lifters can lift a lot; they just have to life " smarter. " Edwin Freeman, Jr. San Francisco, USA ========================== In a message dated 9/22/2008 9:22:01 A.M. This week I put on a training squat suit and wraps and struggled with a triple of 475. I felt tired and really did not want to be there which I have found is a great sign of over training or at least the beginnings of it. At my age I have to lift more in tune with my body than a scheduled routine or I end up injured. ===========================
