We started gluten free when Alina was a baby due to

lack of growth. Back then there wasn't much but there

is so much out there now in mostly health food stores

but other stores carry gluten free now too. A few

books are " The Gluten Free Gourmet " (she has a few

books) by Betty Hagman, and " Gluten Free Food for

Kids " by Sheri L. on. Just do a web search on

gluten free, celiac disease or anything related. The

bread we now use is from Kinnikinnick Foods

(1-)out of Canada that our local health

food store carries and we chose the Yeast Free

Multigrain Rice Bread. Food for Life (Trader Joes's

store carries) has a nice brand also but none without

yeast as far as I know. THen if you start buying

gluten free flours each company has a website with

recipes. Gluten free flours include Quinoi, Teff,

Sorghum, white rice, brown rice, bean flour, nut

flours, tapioca, millet, amaranth (doesn't work well

anytime I have tried to use this one). Pamela's has

some nice pre-made cookies and there are now tons of

prepackaged cake mixes, etc. Just try one at a time

to check for tolerance...But now guess what we are off

most grains now due to Dr. Mercola's clinic as he says

most people do better if you can cut grains out or

drastically reduce them. Now we only eat the bread I

mentioned and for special days/holidays/birthdays I

make a gluten free cake or we have sorbet! My kid

eats better than most kids on this planet!!!

Hi Sharon...I think it may have been ??? who asked for recipes. Not sure.

I was responding to her. We've been GF for a decade and now on SCD. YOu're

right...there is tons of info out there and so many new websites dedicated to

corn allergy, multiple allergies like soy, wheat, corn dairy egg etc. Back in

the dark ages I simply grabbed every single book I could find at libraries and

read them all....now of course there's the all powerful internet where we can

get our info in a split second. I'm starting to forget how much work it used to

be:-)
