Guest guest
HI, We are looking forward to the start of summer…two more weeks of school for my older two. We visited the preschool with Colin last week. He loved it! He’ll be starting in Nov when he turns 3. I’m hoping I can get his twin, , into the class with him but I’m not sure if they’ll take her since she misses the official cutoff for starting in the public school next fall. They both start their first drop-off playgroup at EI tomorrow, so hopefully they will enjoy that! Otherwise, everyone is healthy and we’re enjoying a busy spring! Guest guest
here. Just checking in. Since school let out two weeks ago, we've actually been less busy. I decided not to put the kids in a summer program, so they could sleep in. Now I'm regretting it. Isaiah needs to be doing something and he really needs his routine. He usually goes 2 weeks before staying home bothers him. So, I have a feeling that this week will be rough. Good thing is that next week they're going to camp. They really look forward to going. They love it!! I'm so happy to have found a camp that really knows what they're doing and the staff is good with my kids. My kids no longer participate in Special Olympics during the summer. Isaiah hates the heat and I don't particularly like sitting in the 110 degree heat for an hour while they practice. So it's a unanimous decision, no S.O. swim team. The only thing the kids are involved in right now is Theater Kidz. It's a musical theater group for kids with special needs. My husband and kids were on TV last week, you can see what Theater Kidz is all about. http://www.kpho.com/video/23751199/index.html All the kids love it. It has done so much for my kids self-esteem and confidence. They've been in 3 performances and you can see them becoming more confident each time. It's awesome to see. Myself, I'm off for the summer and thankful to have a job to go back to when school resumes. I don't know about other states, but things in AZ don't look good for education right now. My daughter's high school let all the paraprofessionals and health aides go. is worried about going back to school and not having someone to help her get to the right classes. It's pretty scary for all of us. I hope everyone has a fun and safe summer. mom to 16, DS & ADHD and Isaiah 13, DS, ADHD & Autism From: Multiples-DS@ yahoogroups. comTo: Multiples-DS@ yahoogroups. comDate: Mon, 7 Jun 2010 02:56:25 +0000Subject: Check-in Day!, 6/7/2010, 12:00 am Reminder from: Multiples-DS Yahoo! Guest guest
Summer is keeping us very busy! Caden is enrolled in swim and soccer. I didn't put Miss is either one, I wanted her to watch her brother first, and then attempt it next go round. They will both start preschool in the fall. will be enrolled in PPCD in the school district and Caden will go to a private preschool. I'm both excited and anxious at the same time. is very susceptible to respiratory illness that leads to hospitilazation. So, we shall see how she does health wise. Attached is a picture. Guest guest
We are having a good summer. We've been to the pool the last two days. This afternoon was especially fun. We brought a friend from school to the pool. He started a game with where they would hold hands, count to 3 and jump into the pool. After a while the group grew to six children holding hands and jumping in on the count of three. My boys were 2 of the 6 and the other 4 were "typical" children from their school. It was so neat. Just what we have been striving for. a, Mom to and , 7 year old twins with DS Check-in Day!, 6/7/2010, 12:00 am Reminder from: Multiples-DS Yahoo! Group Title: Check-in Day! Guest guest
Thanks for sharing a!....that brought tears to my eyes! That is exactly what we strive for and it's nice to hear it happening! We're keeping busy as well and are headed on a road trip to MD & NY next week to see family & friends! Sam is saying more words and making us laugh which he knows he's doing! The other morning he was kissing me to wake me up like in Sleeping Beauty which he's addicted to at this time. Ray is singing the song all the time and Sam is doing a lot of kissing and dancing. Although not always stress-free, I'm enjoying this age. Have a great summer everyone!Sherry, Mom to Ray & Sam(Ds), 4 We are having a good summer. We've been to the pool the last two days. This afternoon was especially fun. Guest guest
I haven't had a minute to even check in here in recent months, but that's because we've added two more little ones to the family. We have 4 children with Down syndrome now (3 adopted) and two typical kids. Our newest additions are (3 1/2, Ds) and Lynae (9 mos, typical). We have had for almost a month now, and are so pleased by how he's fitting right in. He's one month older than Micah and 7 months younger than na. The three of them are triple trouble but SO much fun together! Lynae is slowly joining the ranks and I can see that before too long the four of them will be inseparable. Emma is learning and progressing and so different from the child we met 2 years ago in an orphanage in Ukraine. She's just amazing us all as she is learning to WALK! (Emma is 7 and also has CP and Autism) It's been a fun summer with a lot of time in the pool and just being home, and spending time together. I can't post photos of yet, but pictures of our other 5 are on our blog at www.cornishadoptionjourney.blogspot.com Blessings, Meredith
