Guest guest
Welcome and family, You've come to the right place I only hav eone little treasure but many here have 2 or more!! We live in DeLand FL with Jake 13 and Zachary DS/ADHD, RAchel & 11. Excited New Member Hello everyone, my name is and my husbands name is Vince. We are blessed w/ twin girls Leah and who have DS. They are 10 1/2 mos old and are the love and joy of our family. They have an older sis Hayley who's 12 and brother Vince 8. We live in Yorba , CA. We've joined and gone to a couple meetings at our support group DSAOC and are the only family, they know of, that have multiple kids w/ DS. That bothered me a bit. They can all relate to us in the fact that every one there has a child w/ DS but I always felt my family was in a group all on our own because we have 2. I've been praying we would know of or find a family in our same situation. I was surfing the web one night and decided to look around. That's when I was led to this web site and got so excited I wanted to join in right away. I'm an RN and work mid shift 12pm- 12am so I really don't have a whole lot of time to sit and email people. But for this group I'll make an exception, hehe. I"m wondering if there are any families in this group who live close, I would love to get together and just talk. Either way, I'm just glad I found you guys!!!__________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4256 (20090718) __________The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus.http://www.eset.com

Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the group! I have twins, but only one has Down syndrome. I have sons who turned 10 in March. It's difficult to have twins, let alone ones with special needs! Incidentally, the other twin has ADHD, nonverbal learning disorder and yet is in the Talented and Gifted program! Talk about a wide gap. Although I cannot relate to having 2 with DS, I understand the challenges of having 2 with special needs. Since you have hooked up to a support group and you do live in California, I'm sure you already know this but thought I better let you know just in case. The NDSC (National Down Syndrome Congress) is having their convention in Sacramento July 31-Aug. 2. It is so worth going to, especially if you live close!! The website is www.ndsccenter.org. Take care! Mom to Austin (13) and 10 year old twins (DS) and Gabe (ADHD, NLD)
Guest guest
Hi !Glad you found this group. Its an exciting feeling to find others "like you", I was so excited to have found this group when I did. I have five children with my last two being 3 1/2 year old identical twin boys with DS. I have never met another family in person with twins with DS but I have found some friends online who I can relate to. I live in PA so I'm a bit far for a meet up, but this group is very interesting. I may not post often, but I read every post. Congratulations on your girls. I look forward to seeing pictures :)Mom to Tristin (11), Camille (7), Elijah (5), Caleb and Isaac (3) twins with DS "There are many things in life that will catch your eye, but only a few will catch your heart . . . pursue those." -unknownTo: Multiples-DS From: vince_mclife@...Date: Fri, 17 Jul 2009 22:37:04 +0000Subject: Excited New Member Hello everyone, my name is and my husbands name is Vince. Guest guest
We're not close to you at the moment. But, we're a military family, so you never know where we'll end up next! Currently, we're in AL. I don't have twins, but 2 of my 5 kiddos do have Ds. Grifyn will be 6 next week and Xander will turn 6 in late August(we get asked " twins? " all the time!). We're also in the process of adopting 2 more boys with Ds from Bulgaria. While we're " unique " in our local Ds support group because we have more than one child with Ds, I have found in the past couple of years that there are certainly a lot of people out there across the country just like us! You've come to the right place to meet lots of families that you'll find you have lots in common with! Welcome! > > Hello everyone, my name is and my husbands name is Vince. Guest guest
Welcome to the group... where more than one is very common! Like you and , below, I have identical twin boys with DS who are now 4 (They have a big sister who's 7). They are just absolutely phenomenal kids and we're having a great life. Enjoy this group, it's a great place to learn just about anything you need to know about DS and even stuff you didn't need or want to know (LOL). I'm on the other coast (LI, NY) but if you ever find yourself out this way, look us up! best, maggie Mom to Olivia (01) and & (05 - IDs w/ DS) www.walkonthehappyside.blogspot.com To: multiples-ds Sent: Saturday, July 18, 2009 11:26:34 AMSubject: RE: Excited New Member Hi !Glad you found this group.
