Guest guest
nathan has been silly lately, refusing to do his reading at home and school, unsure why as of yet. But has been making connections, with his surroundings and speech. Like last week i asked him what he wanted for supper and he said " pizza hut tonight " clear as day, not just " hut " or pizza " he said the whole word and added a time frame " tonight " , and then this week when going to the grocery store, we often go to fareway, but our town has a hy-vee too, anyways when parking nathan goes " mom, mom faaraawaay, it was soo cute, and i said close it goes fareway (fairway), and he repeated me and goes " ya that's right " , hehehand when he was doing his SCL yesterday she drove by hy-vee and asked him which one it was (we work on stating where he is at in case he is lost as one of his goals) He goes " Its hy-vee, you buy bread " , heheheeh, well at least he knows you can get something besides pizza or pizza type products at the grocery store, lol, and then this morning, we have a wonderful new restaurant in town with excellent breakfast and opens at 6am, I took the boys for pancakes and nathan goes " mom, mom don't touch, don't touch " at first i couldn't figure out what he was talking about, he was pointing at the wall soo i look under the table towards him and he is pointing at an plug outlet, I told him that's right get hurt we dont touch those, he was all smiles and rocking he was so proud of himself as i was of him too. Now if we can figure why he keeps refusing to read, im wondering if its getting too hard and maybe he needs to just go back and review for awhile as he forgets his words often, still doesn't understands phonics to sound words out, mostly does sight words, with phonics added mostly for the beginning sounds right now, as when he reads he wont read the first letter of similar words eg: hat, bat, cat, he will just say one of them without paying attention to the actual word. hmmm. anyways just had to brag on my ham. shawna
