Magnesium is AWESOME! My ND put me on Magnesium Malate over a year

ago. It helped tremendously with these issues that I was having:

Heart palpitations (eliminated)

Muscle twitches, especially at night (greatly reduced)

Anxiety(greatly reduced)

Depression (greatly reduced)

Constipation (eliminated when I combined fiber w/mag)

I don't know if this was already mentioned, but most people with

candida are deficient in magnesium. This was definitely the case for

me.

" The major waste product of yeast cell activity is ACETALDEHYDE.

Candida can multiply very quickly and after many years of growth, the

buildup of acetaldehyde toxins can be overwhelming to the body

tissues. The poison is transformed into ethanol and converted by the

liver to alcohol. This depletes the body of magnesium and potassium

which reduces cell energy. These two minerals are absolutely

essential for tissue strength and integrity. "

Hi April, Do you have any reccommendations for Magnesium? I take a

multi vitamin every day but I'm not sure if I'm taking enough.

HI April,

Is magnesium something that anyone can take or should it be

suggested through a doctor. Your post caught my attention because i

have 4 of the 5 symptoms you had mentioned. How do you know if you

are lacking magnesium or if the symptoms are just coincidence?

I agree, Patty, magnesium is a big one that is

depleted in our diets, and it is a most vital

mineral for many things to work properly.

I swear, my restless leg is 80 percent better

taking it throughout the day ! ! Well worth

it ! ! and a lifesaver !

Yep, sure do. :o) I use one from Vitacost.com. They have their own

brand on there called NSI (Neutraceutical Science Institute). It is

pretty inexpensive. I take the Mag Malate 175 mg - one when I get up

and one before bed. I also take a coral calcium supplement and it has

mag oxide in it as well. From the research I've done, mag is a very

safe mineral to take. You take it to " bowel tolerance " , meaning once

you get diarrhea you back off on the dosage.

I'm going to post a great article on magnesium in a new message. That

will give a lot more info.

Hope this helps ya!

I agree w/Patty - everyone should be supplementing w/Magnesium. It

is used in SO many functions of the body. If I were you I'd just

start taking one - take it until you get diarrhea and then back off a

bit on the dose. I think you will see improvements in some of your

symptoms. Even if you don't, you are still doing something great for

your body and it certainly won't hurt you. You can see in my above

post the brand/dose I use. It has helped me a lot. One thing I

didn't mention is that it also helps me sleep better. My sister also

started taking mag at night to help her sleep and it worked for her.

You wouldn't think such a basic mineral could do so much! :o)

Maritza,

Bless your heart! You sound like you are really suffering. Yes, I

understand the headache and sinus problems. Mine got so bad that I

was almost bedridden. I had a constant headache and was dizzy almost

all the time. Like you, I felt like I must have some serious disease

or something. I went to a Natural Medicine Doctor and he diagnosed

me with a fungal sinus infection. I have learned that almost all

sinus infections are caused by fungus. Us implant girls seem to be

more susceptable to this problem.

My doctor put me on Olive Leaf for the sinus infection. Within a

couple of weeks I could tell that it was working. He also put me on

a prescription nasal spray with an anti-fungal ingredient. It was

called Sporanox. It worked great, but was VERY expensive. After

using that, I found some Olive Leaf Nasal Spray. It is only $10 and

it worked well, also.

What I would recommend is that you deal with the fungal problem you

are having. I'm sure you've seen the posts here about candida. You

can do a search on it here or read some info in the files section.

That will give you an idea of what you're dealing with. I think if

you limit your sugar and refined carbs (white bread, pasta, etc) and

eliminate junk food, you will notice a difference. Then in addition,

definitely take a good olive leaf and use the nasal spray 3 x per

day. Besides that, take a good probiotic.

I think you are talking about calcium when you say the medicine you

take for heartburn. Magnesium is a totally different mineral. It

usually comes in capsules. It would probably help you because when

you have candida your body does not have enough magnesium.

I hope these things help you. I know it is frustrating and

overwhelming. I'm sorry you're hurting so much. I will say a prayer

for you. Just take one day at a time and do what you can to get your

body healthy. Small changes can make a big difference.

I've never seen a good quality magnesium in the drugstore, but it is

possible. If you don't want to order it, you could definitely find

some at a health food/vitamin store.
