Guest guest
hi fay! i am in portland! so it's no surprise we are of the same opinion - interesting. i am anxiously awaiting more legal interpretation from someone who gets that part. and wow - a walgreens! that does surprise me the pharmacy here in portland is a privately owned one, not a chain. lyla Re: domperidone/legal status in US Having done a bunch of research on it myself, and having worked with a pharmacist locally (Vancouver, WA & Portland, OR) who can, does and will continue to compound it, I am of the same understanding of the issue as you. He is currently working at a local Walgreens and I am sure that their legal dept has a tight rein on what can be dispensed! I am not a lawyer either, but have reviewed the info (in the past) quite thoroughly.Fay Bosman, IBCLCWIC Breastfeeding Peer CounselorVancouver, WA .. Guest guest
Actually, he was at a privately owned pharmacy (his own) but recently sold it and moved to a Portland, OR, Walgreens. I recently checked the latest status on Dom with him, and sent an email to our local hospitals and other lactation providers here in Vancouver about him and his offering Dom. None of them had any legal concerns (including the manager of the Family Birth Center at Southwest Medical Center - in fact, she especially thanked me fo the info). I hope it's appropriate to share this info here: His name is Graeff, at the Walgreens at 2829 N. Lombard St in Portland. They can fill Washington state prescriptions too. The cost of the usual initial Rx dose (30mg, I think) is about $60 (often not covered by insurance). Ph: , Fax: I was also told that the Lloyd Center pharmacy dispenses it. Guest guest
Ladies, Is this something that a mom in NJ can get from him or does anyone know where in NJ it can be obtained? I just saw a mom today who has been using More Milk Plus but thinks she needs a little more help. I thought of either adding some additional Fenugreek (not sure how much if she is already taking 1/2 tsp 3 times a day of MMP) or Dom (but not sure where to tell her to go). Thanks for any help. Oh and I held off on sending the doc the report I don't want to be aiding and abetting. Guest guest
she can order it from new zealand. the info on where to get it is on the lowmilksupply.org web site. i don't think compounding pharmacies can ship out of state - plus she's need a prescription to get it here. but no scrip necessary from NZ RE: Re: domperidone/legal status in US Ladies, Is this something that a mom in NJ can get from him or does anyone know where in NJ it can be obtained? Guest guest
Hi, Lou, What about trying shatavari? http://www.lowmilksupply.org/shatavari.shtml At 03:11 AM 10/22/2009, you wrote: Ladies, Is this something that a mom in NJ can get from him or does anyone know where in NJ it can be obtained? Guest guest
I have heard that it is readily available (with a Rx) via Canada - but could be wrong on that. If the Shatavari or some other choice doesn't do the trick, you could call Mike Graeff at and ask him if there is a way to handle it.
