Effexor XR sex drive

I am new to this group, I am glad I've found it. I've been taking

anti-depressants since a young age, I'm now 19 and am pretty stable,

enough to want to see if I can handle being off Effexor. Effexor is

the drug that has worked for me, I leveled off at a 150mg dose.

The last year or so which is my third or so year on the drug I have

noticed a complete drop in my sexual desire. I'm 19 and when I'm not

with someone masterbating is just something I do, I never have the

urge or really get horny. When I'm with someone I can get an

erection but I can't really maintain it, so I'll be horny one minute

and then it will just go away. It's pretty embarassing. I also

sometimes am like " arg, we have to have sex now? " and it feels like

I'm not really all that into doing it.

So I've decided to go off of the drug, due to this and other side

effects and I think that I'll be able to handle it.

Has anyone has this problem? What have you done to fix it? Other

drugs, if you've stayed on effexor? Has quitting helped? I'm worried

this might be permanant since I've been on it for so long now.
