The best changes that Tae-Bo has brought me in 1999 is: endurance, strength,

confidence, and I now look forward to shopping for clothes and taking my time.

For 2000: I want to continue this 1999 journey and finish firming up.

Taebo gave me something I could stick to exercise wise. It also gave me a

good measure to compare my other workouts. When I do something else I often

find myself saying...I really can work harder than this..if I had been Tae

bo-ing I would be dripping in sweat right now. It also gave me thighs and

biceps I can be proud of....even if the other areas still need work.

What changes do you

hope for in 2000?

I want to be able to eat healthy without having to make a tremendous effort.

I don't think this is unrealistic. Some women can go out to the same

resteraunts I do..or eat at home and naturally make the rights choices and

control their portions. Thats what I want. If I can do that I think the

rest of my goals will fall into place quickly (flat abs, toned fat free back

and rear, and a smaller chest (even just a little bit))

Hi Everyone! Well, the biggest change that i've seen is my energy and

stamina levels. I can't believe how far i've come! Before i would be

out of breath right away and i was having all kinds of health problems

and now i feel great! I can run around with my kids for a long time and

do housework non stop for hours. For the year 2000 i hope to tone up

more and stay toned and lose the rest of the weight that i have to lose.

I'm also hoping to keep a healthy eating pattern all through the year.

Sandie, This Granny just wanted to jump in here to say Hi! You're doing

an outstanding job..both personally and in being such an inspiration at

the Tae-Bo boards!

A new and improved perspective about aging. I was 44 when I started

Tae-Bo in March..and thought the best life had to offer was behind me.

I was ready to slide into middle age expecting very little of myself.

To be able to take this new perspective and use it to challenge myself

in every aspect of my life. Personal growth is a lifetime journey..I

lost sight of that once and refuse to let it happen again.

Well the universe sure does work in mysterious ways...I said in my

response to the Change of the millenium Question of the Week that I

wanted " to meet decent men, " and I met one yesterday! :-))) Thanks to

Susi, I hooked up with Matchmaker.com and immediately met this guy,

with whom I got together yesterday for coffee...which extended to a

long walk, then dinner. A really nice, seemingly happy and

well-adjusted man. 6 hours flew by. Golly gee I'm speechless (yeah,

right! LOL)

Great question..and I'll bet you get as many different opinions

as you get replies..which is what makes this group work so well.

Everyone is so different...so there is no one way..but a combination of

experiences provides people with new ideas.

My advise would be to TAKE YOUR TIME WITH THE INSTRUCTIONAL.

Buy 's book.

Understand that everyones bodies respond differently..so go at your own

pace.

Use good judgement.

And find a group of supportive people..like this list.

And do it for yourself.

Question of the week

>What advise would you give someone just starting Tae-Bo?

Spend enough time with the instructional to where you feel comfortable doing

the moves (at least view it once) and then move on to the basic. I'd also

advise getting the Basic Live 1, just so they can have a tape to alternate

with Studio Basic and to show them how much fun the Live classes are. I'd

also recommend 's book because it gives really good descriptions of the

different moves. Definitely, move and your own pace and if you can't do

double time, don't do it. Don't feel pressured to keep up with the pace of

the tape, just do what you can and listen to your body!

who loves the questions of the week because it's always so interesting to

read everyone's different responses

I think I would probably be run/walking mixed in witha variety of aerboics

tapes which I still don on my off days.

Before I started Taebo I was still in a Marching band and got a ton of

exercise there. I also did aerboics 4-5 days a week with strength training

mixed in intermittently. If I hadn't started Taebo I probably be pretty

bored and less enthusiastic about exercise.

I would not be exercising at all. I have never found any type of exercise

that I could stick to for more then a month or so. The only one I stuck with

for a short while, was step aerobics. Otherwise, I was always just lazy and

found excuse after excuse. That is why you will always here me saying that

tae-bo has changed my life!

I would still be doing t'ai chi..but that is more of a moving

meditation and not aerobic. Walking, but only in the summer. Basically

not much because I was never fitness concious..when I was younger I

didn't have a problem with weight..I was active but didn't think about

the fitness aspect of it..just did things I enjoyed to do..horseback

riding, hiking, dancing.

I have said this before..but when I started Tae-Bo it was to learn

to move like the people on the infomercials. I didn't have a clue that

I would lose weight and build muscle or strengthen. I really believed

that the weight I gained was genetic and my destiny...I guess you could

call it. My mom told me for years that she was thin when she was young

and at 40 it catches up with you and is downhill after that..I accepted

it.

So I strongly doubt that I would be doing any kind of an exercise

program..they never interested me.

-who knows Tae-Bo was a lifeline for me.

The most ridiculous fad diet?

Well, lets see. I"ve considered a few, but never tried any for more than a couple of days. I'd say, the most ridiculous fad I've tried is dexatrim, long ago, when it was still loaded with caffeine. Oh, it worked but I was shaking in my boots!

I have also tried the Cabbage Soup Diet. It wasn't a total loss (no pun intended!). I use the recipe for a great minestrone base. It really was very tasty. And the only reason I don't completely think its ridiculous is I know a doctor who tried it, lost 17 pounds in one week, and KEPT IT OFF. (Course, he changed his eating habits too after that week). He was the only reason I tried it to begin with. I lasted about 2 days.

Re: Question of the weekGosh, , I honestly can't think of any diet that I would have considered a fad. I'll have to think about this one. I'm usually always getting on my mom or my little sister for going on really silly diets, like the cabbage soup diet.

Thanks, Barb, but all my get rich scemes have flopped, so I think I'll just share the recipe for free. I need to cut it half first, it makes a really big batch.

The cabbage soup diet that I was on let you eat different things each day.

LIke one day you could have as many bananas as you wanted, and another day,

you were supposed to eat several ounces of meat. It really was ridiculus

I don't like cabbage, so I made the soup but without cabbage in it. It was

really really really tasty!

I'll have to find the recipe and post it. If you add some pasta and some

beans, you have minestrone!!! And it was better than some of the minestrone

I've eaten at restaurants.
