That is so awesome. I hope I can post similar results in a few more months. Have fun and go shopping!!!! Ok now - I'm so glad you posted the whole belly jiggle thing Barb!! I could swear I've been having the same problem (?) But then I thought it was just my imagination. I didn't really pay attention to my body when I started this whole thing...I just didn't want to deal with it..now I'm constantly trying to see if anything is changing and I could swear my belly is jiggly. It was kind of depressing me ...to tell you the truth...but if it means I'm burning fat underneath that would be sooooo awesome. I've been doing Tae-Bo for a little over a month now and I've lost 12 pounds and I think a half inch off my arms and maybe an inch on my hips...but I'm having trouble with the whole measuring thing. I don't think I measure the same spot twice LOL! Even though I feel good about the 12 pounds I'm pretty sure it was all water. I lost it right off the bat and when I first started my leg/knee/foot were all still really swollen...and now they're not....soo.... I have noticed that I had to tighten my watch band a notch because it was sliding around, my sandals are loose, I bought tennis shoes a half size smaller and my pants are getting pretty baggy in the but...and yesterday my waist in my jeans stuck out like two inches...of course it was still tight across my " belly jiggle " but hopefully I'm getting ready to see some progress. That would be sooo coool!!!! Dawn

Guest guest
> Sometimes I look in the > mirror and still see the 'fat' me. I wonder if I'll always see myself that > way. At any rate, I know I can never give up. There is no finish line. And > honestly, getting in shape is no longer something I *have* to do to look > better - it's something I *want* to do to feel better. , I think that half the battle is realizing what you have already realized....that there is no finish line and that fitness is a part of your life because you " want " it to be, not because it " has " to be! There are days when I look in the mirror and only see the things that I could still improve upon! Some of you will think I'm crazy and will say there is nothing to improve upon, but we all see ourselves differently than other people do....LOL! The point is that I don't " only " focus on those things....I am also able to look at myself and be proud of all that I have accomplished so far! And because I realize that there is no time limit on this journey....I know that there are even more changes in store for me! So, where at before I would be focused on " losing 20 lbs " or " weighing a certain weight " now I think more in terms of " geez, I wonder what other changes are in store for me " or " I wonder how much stronger I'll get " . I don't know if that makes any sense, but I think that you will definitely reach all of your goals cause you realize that this journey is about much more than weighing 120 lbs! Sure there will still be days when you think " man, I'd sure love to weigh 120lbs " but there will be many more days when you think " man, I love how strong and healthy I am " ! And those days are the ones you want to focus on cause those are the changes that mean the most who still has her bad days every now and then, but they don't have as much impact as they used to

Guest guest
I just read in fittness magazine that the average woman is 144 pounds..... so don't despair. I often wonder why we can't see the positive things in and of ourselves? We see the negative so clearly and so much of it is an illusion. Thank you for sharing your success with us. You truly inspired me to keep pushing play. It reminds me to be patient and not expect results over night. I have to think that about the people in the tapes also. It took them a lot of hard work to look like they do. TaeboQueen is a real inspiration to me as I work out and if she can do and if you can do it, then I can do it! I *know* I'm thinner than I have been in a long >time, and I *know* that the number on the scale doesn't matter, but I >sometimes get discouraged that I'm not 120 pounds. Everyone starts at a different age or fitness level and has different genetics and other dynamics going on so I think the best thing to focus on is your own starting point rather than any specific goals cuz those goals will change along the way. As long as you work-out regularly, changes are happening, inside and outside. It is very easy to forget where one began when changes slow down or are slow to start or the changes are very subtle. I bet if I had taken dieting more seriously, my arms and legs would now be as flabby as my belly. LOL now when I see ads for weight loss, what I look for is who looks fit, not who lost the most pounds. I wish everyone could meet in person cuz the gal glows and video tape/prints just cannot capture this inner beauty and energy. Slow changes are definitely healthier and more permanent if a person keeps kicking for the right reasons cuz of how it makes them feel, not look. If folks only focus on their goals, they may throw in the towel, getting burnt-out cuz the physical results aren't coming fast enough after trying too hard to get them (some do the Advanced twice a day???), not realizing that attitude is derailing them, not Tae-Bo. What attracted me to Tae-Bo was that it looked like fun. Even my husband who has not yet gotten completely into it admits it is alot more fun than any other exercise he has seen. As you do Tae-Bo more and other types of exercises more, you realize how and Tae-Bo are still evolving. How incorporates more and more strength training and stretches. It just keeps getting better and better, offering more variety, fun and overall effects. Barb who is always trying new stuff but nothing comes close to Tae-Bo for an overall work-out for the mind and body

Guest guest
Barb I've been going to try and ask a question about this but couldn't find the words to describe it - but it sounds like I've got the same problem and it looks disgusting (just when I was beginning to like the look of myself in the mirror too!) And I have this 'crease' just at the bottom of my belly, where all the loose 'pockets' of surface fat seem to sink to - that makes me feel fatter than ever!*sigh* Jill who'd welcome any tips on helping to 'shrink' the skin up > I do see a disturbing recent change in the belly though > I guess I'm getting that loose jellybelly flab from burning the deeper fat > underneath the not so quite as fast shrinking skin > yuck > > Barb > who never had a jellybelly even when 12 inches larger in the waist cuz my fat > was solid LOL

I'm glad you're still pushing play. Patience is not one of my strong points, but in this fitness journey, it is very important that we are patient, otherwise we would give up before our bodies had a chance to change. You can do it, ! Keep pushing play and don't give up!! Don't lose faith in yourself either! You will reach your goals!! (I have to tell myself this every day of my life!!) Guest guest
<< So many times people focus on one single thing (weight loss, drop in clothing size, inch loss, etc) and they become so single minded about whatever it is they are trying to achieve that they lose all perspective and don't even realize how much they are REALLY changing (both inside and out)! >> This is so true . I never expected the inner changes when I started working out. My goal was weight loss. But like you said, once I stopped focusing on the outer changes, things started happening for me. Now when says " I'm testing your will " it makes me dig down and find inner strength I didn't know was there. I weigh myself once or twice a month and I haven't measured in over a month. Those things are just not as important as they once were. I never thought I'd say that, but it's true! I still have days when I wish I weighed less, or fit into smaller sizes, but that's no longer my main focus. And changing your focus makes all the difference in the world. Guest guest
> I wish everyone could meet > in person cuz the gal glows and video tape/prints just cannot capture > this inner beauty and energy. Barb, Wow!!! Thanks so much What a great message! I love reading the insight you have gained on your journey! Everything you said is so true! So many times people focus on one single thing (weight loss, drop in clothing size, inch loss, etc) and they become so single minded about whatever it is they are trying to achieve that they lose all perspective and don't even realize how much they are REALLY changing (both inside and out)! I think it's when I stopped putting any time limit on myself that I really started to see some serious results and I really started to enjoy the process of getting fit....not just for what I would ultimately get at the end of the line, but for who I was becoming along the way! Tawni Gomes (the " thought for the day " gal) always talks about putting in the work to get to your goal and how so many people always say " oh, I wish I could run a marathon without doing the training " and she always points out that the training is where you learn the most valuable lessons about who you are and what you are all about! The training is actually the best part, the part where you really learn about yourself.....the actual marathon isn't all that important in the end! Anyway, I really agree with everything you said, Barb! If you can shift your thinking away from " how much weight can I take off in 2 months " or " how many inches can I lose by Christmas " and realize that this is a lifelong journey with no end point....you will be much better off! Sure, it's good to set goals for yourself....it helps keep us motivated, it helps to keep us going, but just don't let those goals be solely based on physical things and don't forget to notice all the other things that are happening to your body (both inside and out)! I loved hearing about 's success these past 6 months cause it is so refreshing to hear that kind of progress! She does tae-bo 3-4 times a week and she does primarily basic workouts, but she has been consistent in doing it (for the most part) for the past 6 months! And that's what you've got to remember....things aren't going to change overnight! Sometimes it takes a little time to really notice all the changes.....so, you just gotta keep chugging along
