PIELC, the “world’s most important environmental law conference,” according to organizers, takes place on the University of Oregon campus from February 25-28. At the conference, Kirby will also appear with environmental attorney tte Hahn Niman at a panel discussion on Friday, February 26, at 3:45 PM titled, “The Poop on Factory Farms: Lawyers and Citizens Take on Big Ag’s Pollution.” It will be moderated by environmental attorney Charlie Tebbutt, who represented CARE, a group of Yakima Valley residents, in their Clean Water Act lawsuits against mega-dairies in Washington State, as detailed in ANIMAL FACTORY.
