Guest guest
I may be mistaken but didn't you have similar problems about this time last year? You had trouble getting Mic on the bus and I believe he was hitting you then as well. A couple of things come to mind, the transition back to a new school year, seasonal allergies or maybe he's reading the stress coming from you and acting on it? Even when we think we are hiding our stress from the kids, somehow they pick up on it anyway. But I would encourage doing the data collection especially if you see it happens at certain times each year and then you would have a better idea of what is triggering it. I have noticed that when I am stressed or worried Trisha's behavior changes and she acts out more. I can't stress enough the value of data collection and it helps when you have a behaviorist working with you because that is what they are going to want you to do a lot! We have a behaviorist come to the house once a month and more when necessary and we do a lot of data collection. Carol Trishasmom She isn't typical, She's Trisha! Guest guest
<<Thanks for the words of encouragement it helps.During the last month Mic has started hitting me and shoving me.>> Haven't you been in the middle of moving out and moving in during the last month? Moving is high up on the list of major life stressors for " normal " people. Is it possible both of you are having the crazies due to the move? Guest guest
Laurie: I know exactly where you are coming from. I received a call this morning just before I left for work from Tori's Learning Support teacher to let me know her new aide has resigned!!!! Then I check her notebook today when she got home from school, and she bit the woman today!!! I am at my wits end. I, too, am bruised on my upper arms and legs because Tori loves to pinch. Mostly it is impulsive. We are actually going on Ritalin starting tomorrow to see if this helps. Liz encouragement thanks Thanks for the words of encouragement it helps.During the last month Mic has started hitting me and shoving me. Yesterday he shoved me and I was at the top of the cellar stairs and down I went.He is constantly shoving me and if I tell him no he hits me.Needless to say I am black and blue all over. Maybe something is going on with him maybe hes getting sick or maybe since hes grown so much in 2 months hes just throwing his weight around.I am hoping this is just a phase he will get over.Talked to the director of his school and as soon as we get settled in the city they will send a behaviorist to the house and see if I cant get some kind of control over him.I wish I was a bigger person and a stronger person. Mic has grown so much I just cant handle him. He will hit me one minute and the next minute he hugs me, I just dont get it. He saw me crying after the cellar fall and he knew something was wrong because he hugged me he just didnt realize it was his shoving me t! hat made me fall and cry.He doesnt seem to understand he causes pain his behavior is up at school to and hes shoving the other kids and hitting, so they are implementing a behavior plan.Just frustrated and worried Ill get thru this.I just dont understand it or why hes doing it. He knows because he looks for his Dad before he lets me have it if Dads around he doesnt do it as much. Even my dh is worried hes trying so hard to teach Mic he cant shove and hit. Thanks to all of you for your kind words I was having a really bad day and just got overwhelmed. Guest guest
Liz, Hugs to you dear.I am sorry to hear the aid left for Tori's sake. But maybe Tori did not like her and maybe the new person she will like and not do this to.Good luck. Cyndi > > Laurie: I know exactly where you are coming from.
