Guest guest
What do you all do in this type of situation...I'm actually surprised it doesn't happen more often but just now got her fingers caught in the bottom of a metal cabinet door (which is locked and hiding her video treasure trove). She screamed and I ran in and got her fingers out not without losing some skin and a little blood along the way. Truly nothing severe at all. BUT bandaids are like poison to her, and if I try to put on some antibiotic ointment with painkiller in it she rubs it in her eyes right away. I never know what to do for her....fortunately she still pretty much believes that kissing it makes it better (the good news about a lower IQ maybe??) so that's all I could do, just sit there and make soothing sounds and keep kissing it. I suppose I should initiate some sort of bandaid desensitization program? She won't even stay in a room with a box of bandaids and God forbid anyone should ever try to give her a sticker.... " NOOOOOOO " . Is this just leftover from all her surgeries or do most of your kids have bandaid phobia? And if so how do you deal with minor bruises and cuts?
