Hi,Everyone....I just went to a talk about these for Pa. because I am

applying for Gareth to get SSI funds. The trust can also come from someone's

insurance. Ex.....Dad doesn't have enough money to start a trust today, but

can

set aside xxx $$$ for insurance. Mic can be the beneficiary to that insurance

AS LONG AS IT IS stated the insurance immediately goes into a spec. needs

trust. Also, if you are going to charge your child rent after they get SSI,

the money should be paid to the parents as rent, etc. and the parents deposit

the money into a special needs trust. The gov. doesn't want to see a SSI

recipient putting $$$ into a trust themselves.....it means they don't need the

gov'ts $$$. It is a very complicated mess....of course, nothing is easy in our

lives.....but worth the expense for our kids' future.

Take care, Everyone.

If you are in PA - the Pittsburgh AC has written some great materiel about

trusts and has set up a group trust plan. Might be worth reading IF YOU ARE

IN PA.
