Guest guest
Jayne, I enjoyed our dinner and meeting and Emma. I thought was so cute when he climbed into 's lap. I hope Emma feels better soon. You should of heard Trisha on the way home, she was giggling and talking and having a grand ole time once she was in her own safe territory. Remember how she darted towards the road and how she didn't want to cross the road to the car and oh we mustn't forget the flop and drop either. lol Now you see why we get a wheelchair whenever we can to use with Trisha, it makes it so much easier on me and her as well. Some stores has the wheelchairs with the basket in the back and that is great but she has stopped throwing things out of the basket. I can remember only a few years ago she would not only throw things out of the basket she would take her shoes off and throw them and she would even try to take her clothes off, boy am I glad she out grew that phase. :-) When she was finished eating she thought we should all drop what we were doing and go to the car. When I got home and after I got the groceries put away and Trisha put to bed, I was able to sit down and look at the scrapbook page and I just love it! I love the idea of making scrapbook pages and then exchanging them with each other. You know it never dawned on me to get anything about Golden Corral and put on the page. I haven't pulled the pictures off the camera yet but when I do I will send you copies. Looking forward to our next meeting especially so we can get more ammo for our scrapbooking pages. lol Come to think of it, I think we should start a scrapbook exchange for the member of the DS-Autism list, what do ya think? :-) Carol Trishasmom She isn't Typical, She's Trisha! Guest guest
You two are so creative, how nice on what you have going on. Too cute and had the kids too, awesome! I'm just learning how to use the Boardmaker which by the way has been fun with all those gadgets to create them. I'm just learning to use my digital camera too. Still no technology person like what you do Carol but I can imagine. I have been rounding up all my son Rick's photos so that I could put something together as a memoir (sp?)for his upcoming graduation, which I have been doing lately and had spoken to one of my sis about it and she brought this up too, make it like a scrapbook. Hmm, I guess this will be my practice test.; )Sounds like fun. Irma,17,DS/ASD
Guest guest
Hi Carol, and everyone else too! I really enjoyed getting together again and meeting Trisha too. Yes, loves the men, he took right to ! was such a great sport while felt his whiskers and poked and explored 's head - LOL! I thought the kids did extremely well especially considering we were eating at Golden Corral - even I feel overstimulated in there! Eating at Golden Corral in burg, VA at the beginning of tourist season - good gravy, there must have been 3 buses pull in and out of there while we were there! Trisha is a beautiful girl and she was so well behaved. She cracked me up signing, " car " the entire time we chatted. She was so over being at Golden Corral and ready to go, I thought she handled herself really well considering how bad she wanted to go. She was so cute giving you all those wet kisses and slapping you like you're her good buddy on the back! We certainly had some heads turning with all the signing that was going on at our table! Human nature, when you see something different than what you see in your everyday life, you can't help but check it out! I wasn't bothered by it - I love to show off my kids! LOL! You could see how much happier Trisha was once she got in the car and got ahold of her string - LOL! I have to say it was comforting in some ways to see her do the stop, drop, and flop - just reassures you that your own child isn't that cuckoo! LOL! You really handled the whole scene well Carol, I thought the car in the parking lot might hit her but you had the whole scene under control! Sometimes we just gotta do what we gotta do to get through the moment. Trisha is close to the same size as Carol everyone and she decided she was gonna take a seat in the parking lot - Carol was very calm, cool, and collect and it didn't take but a few minutes before she had Trisha back up and walking to the car. I think when the kids see us getting flustered by their behavior, it feeds them. Trisha could see that Carol wasn't phased by her behavior and it wasn't going to phase her. She got over it and moved on. You're such a good Mom, Carol. And how 'bout laying in the main aisle to the dessert section of the restaurant?!!! Good lord, he was done! I really look forward to the next time we see eachother too. Carol and I each made a scrapbook page with the photo from the first time we met. We had lunch after we attended a conference together. We swapped the pages that we made yesterday- it's so fun to see what the other person " interprets " with their page. Carol's is so creative. She even did a little " social story " with writing with symbols! It's so cute, I just love it. I will be snapping tons of pics at the picnic in PA so I can make some pages - anyone who wants to swap pages, just holler! Take care, Jayne Csvillars@... wrote: Jayne, I enjoyed our dinner and meeting and Emma. I thought was so cute when he climbed into 's lap. I hope Emma feels better soon.
