Guest guest
Hi Louise, I have trucks to tow them. I do not always have the two trailers working at the same time but when I do I have to double back for the house trailers for myself and the help. It's a very demanding business but it enables me to be home for most of the school year. Charlyne Mom to Zeb 12 DS/OCD/ASD? Louise & Andy wrote: Charlyne how do you move the two trailers around? Sounds like a tasty business. Louise RE: Jayne Hi Jayne, I have two trailers, unit 1 is hamburgers, hot dogs, suasage, corn dogs, unit 2 has bread bowls with chili, new england clam chowder, cream of brocolli soup and sweet potato fries. I travel throughout New England, mostly MA and CT. Zeb has worked at the small events for an hour or so. I am bound to child labor laws like anyone else regardless if Zeb is my child. He is a bit young but can pour soda, take money from customers and match the bills were they go in the cash drawer. He comes with me to get stock and loads and unloads the car or truck. He doesn't like to work, lucky me. You can view one of my trailers at www.thebige.com, click on vendors and food at the fair and then on Olko Concessions. Guest guest
Hi Louise, Many people have asked us to do mail order during the winter months but I would have to give up my sped advocacy. My choice is to keep things how they are at this point in my life. Many days I want to quit the advocacy piece and just concentrate on my own family and then something comes up and I can't say no. I am the advocate for my local ARC and also a board member. They call me once in awhile and usually when something becomes a crisis situation. I have told the director to please not wait until a situation is a crisis because it is so much more difficult to advocate at that point. I dropped everything yesterday to go to probate court with a disabled mom. She had lost her son to his half brother that appeared on the scene after her son was of age to get an inheritance from his deceased father. I almost crossed the line of contempt but the mom has her son back. How could I give this up? Charlyne Mom to Zeb 12 DS/OCD/ASD? LOL It's worth a trip to CT just for the broccoli soup alone. I had so much fun working for Char last fall that I'm going back at the end of this month to work again. Char is AMAZING to be able to run that business, do all the school problems with Zeb, advocate for kids whose parents aren't capable, and still find time to advise others about education laws and IEP's. Not to mention the trips she has made here to set a fire under me and make my district sit up and take notice. LOL Gail :-) -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Guest guest
Charlyne if the time is right one day you will know that. Until then keep up the great work you do. Sounds like your place is where you are now, if you weren't around who would have helped that mom in court? Louise Re: Charlyne business -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Guest guest
Hi Louise, I think your right. The mom may have found another person but my gratification will carry me through for another year.
