He had tics and constant grunting/growling noises. He is just DS/Aut/OCD now. It took the psychiatrists a few yrs. before they decided it was all autism and not TS. Both autism and TS have so many overlapping 'symptoms/signs' that sometimes it is hard to differentiate which is which. Autism Spectrum disorder is, basically, just the range that our kids are in. Some are clearly, markedly autistic and, others, like my son, are higher functioning autistic kids. Sherry and Connie.......prayers that Ivan is downgraded before it gets to you. When has Florida had 3 hurricanes in one year like these? Patty....Gareth use to hit his head and bang it up gainst anything available when he was frustrated. When he banged it on the tile floor, I thought he would have a concussion. I got him on Risperdal and the head banging stopped. I was so afraid he'd make himself blind or be a vegetable, that I had to do something. After he was on the Risperdal, he stopped the head banging, rocking, teeth grinding, slept through the night, could be redirected, and started talking. Granted, he only talks in 1-3 word sentences, but at least he 'talks.' Couldn't read digest 2675 because it was all blue and underlined. What happened there? Welcome to all the newcomers.
