Hi Donna, Zeb doesn't do well with the holidays. My older kids and the grandchildren come over with the grandparents and whomever else happens to stop in. The kids are into all Zeb's things and disturb his TV time. He is ok for awhile and then wants them all to leave,me too,LOL. Charlyne Mom to Zeb 11 DS/OCD/ASD? First Thanksgiving that I stayed this long in NINE years. When we got there, we were told we were NOT permitted to attend to Maddie. Duff's sisters had written up a schedule (that they actually kept on index cards in each of their pockets) of various members of the family to watch Maddie (we DID try to get her to sit with us, she wanted NO PARTS of it). NONE of our kids were on the schedule, OR us...it was for everybody else in the family. They all followed the schedule, cousins, aunts, uncles, all of them. Some had it harder than others (for instance, cousin , being a young guy who attracts Maddie, had to do horsey play for his quota....Poor kid...I FEEL for his back tomorrow morning). But they all had their time slots. Duff's sister actually heard me whisper to Duff that I wanted to check on Maddie...she was ALL over me....actually yelled to everybody that I was trying to *escape*....LOLOL At one point apparently, my BIL went down to our house to get some videos (I didn't bring them, anticipating our usual early return, my BIL simply went into our house--we're a weird family, we all have master keys that fit all our houses). All the cousins had a hand in keeping Maddie occupied, and she seemed none the less for wear (although eager to go home just now...she had fun, but was done). I'm THANKFUL and blessed. The grands were touching his beanie babies in his playroom. Zeb blew a fit and packed them in laundry baskets and put them in his room. He watched Lilo and Stitch marathon most of the day and was quite annoyed when he had to sit for dinner with the family. I actually couldn't wait for everyone to leave myself. My house is a mess and I am tired. Now to get ready for Christmas. Charlyne Mom to Zeb 11 DS/OCD/ASD?
Guest guest
You ARE truly blessed Donna! What a GREAT family you have. Course, can't give them ALL the credit.......you reap what you sow and we all KNOW that you are good at sowing seeds of kindness! Gail :-) Hey Char, This year was different for us: I just got in.
