just curious, have you had her hearing and eyes tested? As far as the

bathroom, we are still working on that and Trisha is 12. She goes through

phases

where she does real well and then there are times she doesn't want to go at

all. (she is in the good phase right now, YEAH!) We just had Trisha's eyes

and hearing retested and found out she has low vision and her hearing is mild

to severe in the speech area. I kept saying that she only hears parts of the

words and the tests confirmed my suspicions. Just since she has gotten her

glasses we have noticed a big difference in her, I'm hoping the hearing aids

will do the same.

She isn't typical, She's Trisha!

You say Trisha has on and off times when she goes to the bathroom.

sometimes she tells/signs to us, sometimes she just gets up and goes and

sometimes we have to remind her. This week she has been going without prompts

I

would say about 75% of the time. Trisha's ped always said that Trisha would

train in her own time and not to push her or make a big issue, it's slow

going but she is showing signs now that it might be time to go to the next

level

in training.

As far as the evals, it doesn't hurt to do them and sometimes you get

answers you didn't get before. It is also a good way to see if there is any

regression or progress because you have the last report to use as a baseline.

Hi Carol,

That was a fast reply. smile. Yes, Rochelle gets her eyes tested

every six months because she has poor eyesight. She wears bifocals.

She just broke a pair. Snapped them in two. Not happy. We got her a

new pair without the wrap around ears. Hope she will not break

these. At least they are not as expensive.

She had her ears tested recently too. It's ok within fairly normal

range. The ENT said we didn't need to see him for a year. She is on

zyrtek and flonaise daily. It has helped alot.

You say Trisha has on and off times when she goes to the bathroom.

Does she initiate it verbally or physically or does she just go when

you ask her to go.

Rochelle is scheduled trained. She will try each time she is put on.

She has 6 days out of 7 that she goes. But, I think it is because we

put her on every 1 1/2 or 2 hours.

What do you think about the re eval?

the school doesnt evaluate nathan for anything, its all done at iowa city, in

fact they go by them, their suggestions and recommendations most of the time,

and keep all this info in his file to refer to and assist them, and if they

have any problems they just call iowa city, just as i would. weve even had

phone conference type meetings withthem. shawna
