Hopefully I will catch up this week. I wanted to mention regarding Brad's ed placement that a teacher must have the skills to meet the needs of their students to incur educational benefit. If the teacher does not have the necessary skills to teach Brad you have the right to ask the school district in an IEP meeting for personnel skills training. If Brad is not making measurable progress you also have the right to ask for compensatory services and staff that is trained and qualified to meet his needs. It's always about money but that's not your problem, it's the school district's problem. It is the school's responsibility to provide a free and appropriate education. Brad is not receiving an appropriate education. If the school district does not have an appropriate program to meet Brad's needs you could ask for a private placement. Personally I would not keep my child in that enviroment with a babysitter instead of a teacher. I am ripping mad just reading your post. Brad, no doubt, has regressed being in this classroom. You and Brad have plenty of issues to deal with than complicate the situation with an inappropriate school placement. Does Brad have an OT program to address his sensory needs?
