Guest guest
Did I write about my trip to CT, and seeing the new addition to the family, and saying about the pictures. I'm unsure if I did or not. bus problems > Hi everyone, > > I just need to vent a little about the bus. I live on a pipe stem > road. It is shaped like an L and is a dead end. Guest guest
i hate how our kids or at least many of them get out of school an half an hour early to ride the bus becasue they have to get them out before everyone else, blah blah and the bus has to get back for the regular kids, blah blah blah. shawna bus problems > Hi everyone, > > I just need to vent a little about the bus. Guest guest
Boy, that stinks Diane!!! The bus problem I am having doesn't have to do with Maddie...it's Alison, my 12 yo. We switched schools this year. She is going to a private school. Philly does bus them (it's political....they stop busing all kids after 6th grade, but one of the council members had a kid at this school, so it's the ONLY one that gets bused straight through 8th grade). I probably shouldn't complain, since even if she stayed at her other school, I'd have to find transportation. HOWEVER, she is picked up at SIX EIGHTEEN!!!! And then doesn't get to school til 8:10!!!!! NO WAY can we keep this up...it's only been two days!!! So, I don't care if we're the ONLY school bused...I'm calling them in an hour. Guest guest
Last year, the " bus ladies' told us that our house was " inconvenient " for them to come to!! The only inconvenience was they had to get up from their coffee and donuts five minutes earlier!! The school Layne went to is off the same street we live on, 5 miles away...one of them even had the nerve to suggest that we drove him instead. One day last year, on a friday, they picked him up at 10am (from a 1/2 day program)...because they 'wanted to get done'. I could go on and on. Luckily, Amy's mom knows these ladies (and most of the people in our town) and gave them an earful about how they were treating her grandson! This year, Layne is in a different school, and because it is in the next county, we do have to take him (if we were 6 miles closer, he'd be bussed), but at this point its fine, because its a great program, and worth the driving back and forth. They say it is against the rules for the bus to back up. I understand this and want the bus to be safe. I am sure the back-up rule was for buses who don't have an aide on the bus. The buses have been backing-up for me now for 8 years. I tell them by law they need to pick my child up door to door. They need to send smaller bus or other transportation. One year the Head of transportation came to my neighborhood and said it was ok for them to back-up. Yet here I am again arguing with the bus driver. I can walk to where they park the buses at the local highschool. Every single bus is backed up into a spot. When I think about it how does that big garbage truck get out of my street. Hmmm. Or the many 18 wheelers that move people. Hmmm. I feel a little better but would love to hear other bus stories. Then I wouldn't feel so alone. I think transportation runs the school system.
