what really annoys me more than anything about these pig posts is that I happen to love pigs(and I don't eat them). I have even painted them on canvas.

No doubt Lenny will come bak with a dig(and a muddyone) on this comment.

I was not dissing pigs (the actual animals). I even enjoyed the "Cows With Guns" song lyrics. In the song, at least, they (the cows) managed to win their struggle to some degree. I have a funny story about how I even became aware of the Cows With Guns website, but I'll shelve that for now, but will say that it popped up on google when one of my sons was researching cows for a school project. We were so busy laughing at the song, that my son was getting nowhere with his project, and I had to talk him into switching to another topic/animal to write about.

All these mentions of pigs made me think of older political cartoons showing certain politicians as pigs at the trough or pork bellies, etc. I was trying to find one of these but stopped when I found that pic of a pig who could look good in lipstick. If I lived in the States, I wouldn't vote for Palin, or for a ticket that had her on it as VP. As far as I can see (which is not too far at all, literally), having Palin on the ticket looks like more and more of the same old, same old stuff that has been going on under Republican rule. I don't live in the States, but when I think of the GOP, I see pigs at the trough, literally, especially in recent years with what is going on in Iraq. Who is benefitting from the situation? The pigs at the trough. I think you know who they are.

At the same time, I wouldn't mind hearing from some of you in the States about who may be some of our more viable candidates in Canada for our upcoming federal election which was announced fairly recently, if you have any thoughts on this. I am a bit ticked at the moment, because some of us in Canada do not like ANY of the main contenders in our upcoming election on October 14th. Isn't this wonderful? Here in Canada, a Prime Minister can call upon the Governor-General to dissolve Parliament (and mess up her planned trip to the Paraolympics, to boot) to accomplish this feat. And the rest of us have to fork out millions for an election we did not want at this time, not because we are so happy with him, but because all of the other candidates do not meet our expectations in many ways. This is not a good situation to be in.

agree, music is a very powerful thing. I was immersed in music from a very young

age

too, and it served for many purposes throughout my childhood to present.

My children now share my love of music. Even my youngest will bring CD's to me

of his

favorites to play, and now can ask for some by name.

, this makes me sad too. I know our kids understand more then

we sometimes give them credit for and this is proof positive. I

haven't seen Charlotte's web since I was a kid (very long time ago in

a galaxy far far away for sure) and I did not even remember this

song. I hope one day all of us parents with non-verbal kids can sing

this song along with there kids. My daughter is 9 and non-verbal but

she is making more and more attempts. One of our little games is I

say " I LOVE... " and she laughs out a long " YOOOOUUUU " .
