Guest guest
>She is a shooting star that will burn out quickly. The free press will getall the facts and when they all come out we will know the truth, not justthe pretty face.< I am appalled at the comments about Palin on this list serve. I do know that on many cable news stations they are saying things that are lies about her. Hopefully, the real truth will come out soon. I don't think she has been given a chance yet, given she hasn't been interviewed or in a debate. She may surprise her critics, that seem to be mostly women. Go figure. Since women here are stating she doesn't speak for you. Well, except for her pro war stance, she does speak for me. I also think we all have much more of a chance with someone like her who has a special needs child, and nephew with autism to really listen and become an advocate for us. Also, I think McCain will listen to her. C. C.
Guest guest
I know this is so off topic but thanks for the laugh! I love that skit with Silverman (and the one with Ben Afflack and Jimmy Kimel too) The sad truth it Mr. Damon is 100% right and I think all these people are swept away with Ms. Palin's charm and not caring about her stance on things. At least we all know where Obama stands on issues and we can vote for or against that. This was an interesting point I read online today: To get an idea of whether experience is something to consider, lets take a look back at some of the past presidents in the US history: Buchanan: 29 years Gerald Ford: 25 years H.W. Bush: 17 years Nixon: 14 years Bill Clinton: 12 years Reagan: 8 years W. Bush: 7 years Abraham Lincoln: 2 years Washington: 0 years Dwight Eisenhower: 0 years The former president with the most experience, Buchanan, who had 29 years of service as a representative, senator, ambassador and Secretary of State, is arguably the worst president in the US history. While Abraham Lincoln with only 2 years experience in the federal government is considered a national icon and, with Washington, one of the most venerated leaders in our nation's history. Going by this list, it is difficult to say that more experience is better. I care about a lot of things, but research on autism (the right kind of research) is by FAR is the most important.

McCain actually used the same line against Hillary months back, did she demand an appology? Palin better grow thicker skin and so should you. Tina > > > > I saw this video and had to share. Guest guest
Lin, I posted this yesterday as part of a longer message. I found it in a 1minute Google search. The context is very similar to the Obama lipstick/pig reference, but coming from the other party.----------------------------------------------------------By the way, since we are at it and Obama was accused of smearing Palin with this "lipstick on a pig" remark, obviously the "pig" was Republican policies and not Palin, consider this report of McCain's campaign statement just a few months ago;"McCain criticized Democratic contenders for offering what he called costly universal health care proposals that require too much government regulation. While he said he had not studied Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton's health-care plan, he said it was "eerily reminiscent" of the failed plan she offered as first lady in the early 1990s.""'I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig,' [McCain] said of [Hillary's] proposal."http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2007/10/mccain_rolls_out_health_plan_a.html----------------------------------------------------------McCain called Hillary a pig in lipstick??? This led to public outrage resulting in millions of their cd's being destroyed. Before you jump all over me, I'm only telling you why I mentioned the Dixie Chicks. Guest guest
Hi Trish, You hit on something that is extremely important in your post: " I'm voting for the candidate who can and will serve the needs of a generation of injured children. I want to see who will most effectively stand up to Merk, the CDC and everyone else who insists that vaccines are SAFE...and continue to mandate them. " After all, this is why we are ALL here, is it not? No matter how much we all disagree, we must keep this in mind. We must not let this crazy race devide us from common goals and one another. BTW, the Dixie Chicks have used every opportunity to write/sing and talk about Bush and his failure as a leader since he was first elected. I think that this is a band that uses music to inspire thoughtful political discussion, whether we agree with them or not, I so hand them that! > > > > > > > > I saw this video and had to share. The power of "song" can go a long way towards inspiring others. My parents' tiny country of Estonia used the power of song to do just this at their large song festivals, and attained freedom from the USSR in the early 1990's in a relatively peaceful manner. This was documented in the movie, "The Singing Revolution". I want to see who will most effectively stand upto Merk, the CDC and everyone else who insists that vaccines areSAFE...and continue to mandate them."After all, this is why we are ALL here, is it not? No matter how much we all disagree, we must keep this in mind. We must not let this crazy race devide us from common goals and one another.BTW, the Dixie Chicks have used every opportunity to write/sing and talk about Bush and his failure as a leader since he was first elected. Guest guest
He's an actor. Where is his credibility in this all as an expert. Sorry but perhaps we can all respect the fact that this is election season and just let us discuss what this list was designed to do. The majority of my lists I'm on will not allow the election to come into the conversation because, as we see on this list, we've lost focus. Yes it is important to think about qualifications and sorry if I sound like I'm not interested. But to be honest, I'm not in what Matt Damon has to say. I would prefer to listen to someone that is invested and has a stronger knowledge base. Listening to actors about politics, because they have a voice because they are actors, doesn't hold merit with me personally. But that too is my choice. Cg > > I saw this video and had to share.
