Guest guest
Hello community! :-) This Saturday Jan 15th 7:15pm – 9:30pm The Dancing Path™ presents- Soul Movement Sanctuary ~ w/ Jovinna A transformational, improvisational & experiential dance event inspired by the Soul Motion™ Movement practice in NYC The last day to pre-register to get the adv rate is this Friday http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/148609 Soul Movement Sanctuary Workshop Dance is an intimate union of body, mind, heart, and soul. Each of us has a unique way of expressing the body’s beauty and creative energy. The expression of dance is the result of being present and absorbed in each moment. Soul Movement Sanctuary creates the space for the dancers to practice the art of paying attention as they navigate the inner landscape and the outer landscape. This is an awareness practice in motion. Cultivate your presence as you move through solo, duet and community dance. This body of work is inspired by Vinn Marti’s Soul Motion and Kripalu Meditation-in-motion. There will be no choreography; this is an improvisational workshop all about you expressing your own authentic movement and flow. No dance experience needed. Come ready to move! Trinity’s Testimonial for Soul Movement Sanctuary I met Jovinna last year while she was teaching an improvisational Soul Movement Sanctuary Dance at Kripalu Yoga Center in Lenox, Massachusetts. Jovinna is a phenomenal dance facilitator! She gives such powerful, loving, gentle guidance that supports participants in finding their own deepest authentic dance. Being a facilitator myself, I noticed and loved the careful selection and timing of verbal cues she gave to help people find their own movement and flow. The music she played gave me a full body dance and eargasm! :-) Jovinna is currently taking the Soul Motion training with Vinn Marti, so many of these principles will be in the workshop. Soul Motion is huge on the West Coast. Jovinna will be traveling all the way from Massachusetts to facilitate this workshop; so take advantage of this rare, wonderful opportunity! :-) About Jovinna Jovinna Chan- is a movement artist, facilitator and bhakti yogini. She has been practicing yoga and dance since she was a kid. She currently is a faculty member at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health. At Kripalu Jovinna teaches yoga, dance, and meditation. Jovinna also instructs teachers in the 200- and 500-hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training certification programs. Prior to working at Kripalu, she spent 10 years as an actress and dancer in New York City. Along with a variety of yoga mentors, Jovinna’s movement teaching is influenced by Soul Motion, Martha Graham, Karate, traditional Korean dance, Kripalu meditation-in-motion, and Kripalu YogaDance. http://www.jovinna.com Dance Theater Workshop in NYC 219 W 19th street (bet 7th & 8th Ave) 3rd Floor Space is limited! Sort of what I am doing now only with more credentials thus opening up more opportunities! :-) Due to focusing on school I have decided to discontinue the One Love Drum & Dance Circle and will rarely be facilitating dances myself.
