Guest guest Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 I need some school advice. I have called the Nevada PEP (Parents educating parents), but they were closed for the evening. I am expecting a call tomorrow. The boys will be starting kindergarten next fall. Davey has been in a developemental pre-k for three years. We moved last summer (way out in the middle of nowhere according to my girls), and the school is quite a distance from our home. We are zoned for one school which is going to a year round schedule in July, Davey is attending another school that offers the developemntal pre-k that is staying on a traditional schedule, and we live closest to another school that we are not even zoned for. Both boys will require buses to get to school. The regular kindergarteners are only bussed one way. The parent picks them up at noon. The program that I want Davey in next year is offered only at the school he is currently at (developemental k). I asked for a variance for to attend the same school. They said they do not give variances to kindergarten students. So, I either put Davey in a program I don't want, put them in separate schools, on separate schedules, also have problems with trying to be two places at once (picking Davey up from the bus, and picking up at school), or ???????? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. mom to Amy 17, Kelsey 15, Davey (DS) 5, and 5 PS sorry for being so long winded, and I hope I made sense! Quote
