For more information, please contact Riel Peerbooms at or at rpeerbooms@...** Trail Blazers, Trade winds Lake Camp and Vacamas Programs for Youth are outstanding residential summer camp programs, offering academic and social emotional enrichment to underserved youth from New York and New Jersey. Trail Blazers – Adventure based – Decentralized – Award Winning - New Jersey Serving underserved youth from New York and New Jersey, Trail Blazers is an award-winning youth development organization that, for the past 120 years, has touched the lives of thousands of urban young people. Campers attend a 10 or 20 days session at our pristine 1100 acre Nature Conservancy managed site in Sussex County New Jersey, 2 hrs from NYC. Campers live in small groups of 8, with 2 to 3 counselors. In our decentralized program, groups live independently and prepare for a final Vagabond Adventure, a multi day trip, in one of the surrounding national forests - Survival Hiking, Delaware Canoeing, Mountain Biking or Rock Climbing. We are looking for youth workers, future teachers and social workers, with an affinity for the outdoors and excited about living in a very rustic area with minimum amenities. Trade Winds Lake Camp – Three Rights Youth Development – New York Since 1989, Trade Winds Lake Camp has been committed to providing a one-of-a-kind opportunity to the youth of New York City. With extensive experience in integrating education and camp, we are committed to helping underserved youth from New York and New Jersey do better in school and in life. Campers live in small groups in modest cabins with bathrooms. Our program, a mix of central activities and electives, centers around personal development through our Three Rights program. Activities vary from sports, arts and swimming, to team building and survival hikes. Trade Winds Lake Camp specializes in supplemental education for children in need. We are looking for enthusiastic coaches, future teachers and youth workers with exceptional work ethic, patience and energy. Trade winds Lake Camp is a division on Vacamas Programs for Youth. Both programs are seeking to add an Art Therapy Intern to staff as part of the social support team. This individual reports to the camp director, works with individual or groups of children as designated by the counseling team, and is responsible for providing emotional support to children that have additional needs. WHEN: July and August Session WHERE: Montague, NJ or Windsor, NY Room/board & stipend provided. QUALIFICATIONS: · Two years prior experience working with children. · Bachelor's degree with a major or minor in behavioral or social sciences preferred. · At least one year of education in an Art Therapy program, graduate level preferred. · High level communication skills, both verbal and written. · Working knowledge of human development with an emphasis in youth through early adulthood. · Ability to co-work and engage in high level team work while concurrently demonstrating individual initiative and organizational skills. · Ability to work productively in a stressful environment. **Do not reply to this email.
