Guest guest Posted May 7, 2004 Report Share Posted May 7, 2004 Congratulations to Jillian and Sara on making their first communion - how special! I hope you'll have some pictures to share with us. Marcia - How did your church handle this with Sara? Sam & have been going to Faith Formation since they were 5 (I started them out at that age in the Pre-K 3 group because that's where they best fit in). They just finished up Kindegarten Faith Formation last Sunday. I've talked to both of their teachers (luckily we are in a large enough parish that there were 2 separate K classes at the same time - they do much better behavior-wise separated), and I think I'm going to have them repeat K next year. I really want them to understand as much as possible before they start getting into preparations for first communion. Our Parish has been great about fully including the boys. At one time they did have a separate " special needs " class, but they dropped it because inclusion was going so well. Would be interested in hearing your experiences w/your church and Sara. Nicala just had hers last Sunday. is dressed pretty too because afterwards they were going in a horse show and were dressing up as princess's on a unicorn (we put wings on the horse and a horn) however the event got cancelled because of the rain. We decided along with the priest to not have have his first communion because he doesn't understand and I did hold him behind a year anyhow so we will consider it again when the rest of his class has their first Communion next year in grade two. , mom to Nicala & (ds/adhd/autism) age 7 and age 5.5 Post your free ad now!
