Guest guest
Thank you to everyone else who congratulated Zack on his reading. I am getting so many messages, I don't want to clog up the list. So, I will just say '"thank you" and that it is so nice to share news with people who understand what a great accomplishment it is for Zack. Our kids are really amazing, aren't they? Sometimes, I feel sorry for the people who have "normal" kids and don't know the thrill of watching their child overcome the odds and learn something the "experts" said they never would. Those parents will never understand what an inspiration our kids are to us. Thanks again to you all! Sue
Guest guest
Sue, Way to go, Zack!! Thanks for the inspiration and motivation to get more help for Brett (6) in reading. He loves all the Dr. Suess books. "go Dogs Go" and "Green Eggs and Ham" are the current favorites. mom to Brett (ds) and 6, Niles 15, Laurel 17 -----Original Message-----From: zmadad@... He read "Are You My Mother?" by Theo Selieg. (Better known as Dr. Seuss). It took years and years of battling "He will only read sight words" and "He's not ready for phonics". He started to be tutored heavily in reading only last year, and in less than a year, my big, 6th grade boy read me a book! It probably sounds sappy, but I cried as he read it. This is not the first book he's read to me, but it is the longest and I am just so stinking proud of him!
