Guest guest
I just received my latest Alternative Medicine magazine and found an article on a new IV treatment for fibromyalgia of micronutrient therapy called IVMT. When the nutrients are delivered through a slow intravenous drip, the patient can absorb much higher concentrations than she'd get from an oral dose. 80% of users get good results. Below is a list of places that do this kind of therapy: This therapy isn't for everyone....they don't recommend it for people with blood disorders such as hemophilia, kidney disease of congestive heart failure....they recommend 8 weekly treatments. It does not make the pain go away forever but can be redone whenever the need arises. Dr. Katz believes that the nutrients help blood vessels dilate more effectively, boosting blood flow to muscles. Without adequate blood, muscles are starved for oxygen and carbon dioxide and other potential toxins can build up in the tissues causing pain. Sometimes this therapy is referred to as " Meyer's Cocktail. " Insurance may pay some portion of the costs which are about $15 to $100. The Integrative Medicine Center at Hospital in Derby, Conn. Go to www.imc-griffin.org or . Tahoma Clinic, Renton Washington. Go to www.tahoma-clinic.com (this clinic offers IVMT but only when recommended by a clinic physician). The Natural Health Medical Clinic, Seattle. www.drruhland.com . Helios Integrated Medicine, Boulder, CO. www.heliohealthcenter.com Whole Health New England, Arlington, Mass. . Plymouth, Mass. . www.wholehealthne.com If you don't live near any of the clinics above, the following organizations may be able to refer you to practitioners offering IVMT in your area: The National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, OR. www.ncnm.edu/intro.html; American College for Advancement in Medicine. Laguna Hills, CA . www.acam.org. The college can refer you to member physicians, many of whom practice IVMT, but you'll have to contact the physician yourself to find out if he or she does so. P.S. Will be gone the next two weeks but wanted you to have the information before I left...........Enjoy! Nona Baker
