Unfortunately we aren't in a position to travel that far. Not so long ago it would have been impossible to travel that distance with and now it is more that there are other kids in the family so I can't travel easily. fits with the group of kids that is describing. He isn't included in the count because Capone hasn't seen him, doesn't even know he exists. Officially is diagnosed with ds and PDD but other drs have added ADHD, Obsessive/compulsive, and other labels. He doesn't have seizures thank goodness. Have you used the ds clinic at Children's in Milwaukee? We went last year just to make sure we weren't missing anything. We pretty much had the bases covered but just wanted to make sure. Do you have a ped. psychiatrist that you are working with? We go to Milwaukee to see one. None in the Appleton area that has a clue how to treat a complex kid like . Good luck, Just glad to see another Wisconsinite on the list. Karyn

Guest guest
Hi Karyn, It is good to have another Wisconsinite on the list! How did you find out about Dr. Capone? Does he have a website or anywhere I could go to find more info??? Who is the ped psych you see in Milwaukee? We are currently seeing Dr. Fred Steiger in Cedarburg, and we find him very warm and respectful toward Pete (we changed Dr's to find this). We have not been to the DS clinic at Children's. Is it worth the trip? I would love to hear what you have to say. Thanks, Karyn, Bo ps. I remember meeting a family from Appleton at one of Dr. Warner's clinics here a number of years ago ... did you ever come to see him in Brown Deer?? pss. How old is ? He sounds very similar to Pete ... very " complex " . Pete is going to be 13 in a couple of weeks. We are finishing 6th grade in the middle school. Terri Couwenhoeven from the DS clinic teaches a puberty workshop for families of kids with Developmental Delays, and we are going with Pete on June 12th. It's time (for better or worse!!).
