Grand Casino Installs State of the Art Clean Air System

ELGIN, Ill., June 19 (Jun 19, 2001 10:33:13 EST) -- In an effort to improve

its indoor air quality, the Grand Casino has installed a five-stage

air filtration system in the main floor of the casino. While this technology

has been used in electronics manufacturers' clean rooms, it is the first of

its kind to be used in an Illinois casino.

Cigarette and cigar smoke contaminants in gases, vapors and particles from

the casino air will be filtered through the new system, creating cleaner and

fresher air throughout the casino. Curtains, carpet and upholstery will also

be cleaner with the removal of smoke contaminants.

Pete Dominguez, General Manager of the Grand Casino said, " Our

improved air system is just a part of our continued commitment to providing

the best gaming atmosphere for our patrons. "

" Smoking cigarettes and cigars is a common activity among many of our

players, " said Dominguez. " With this air filtration upgrade, all our players

can now enjoy a more comfortable and pleasant gaming experience on the

casino floor. "

Pure Air Werks of St. , Illinois, installed the new air system. Pure

Air Werks continues to conduct carbon dioxide testing in an attempt to keep

nicotine levels at a minimum.

Located in Elgin along the scenic Fox River, the Grand Casino is

considered Illinois' premier riverboat casino, averaging more than 10,000

gamers each day. Casino Player Magazine, the industry's leading publication,

named the Grand " the Best Riverboat Casino in the United States "

three years in a row.
