Mick I would think your bladder would begin to hold more as the healing process continual. I had that problem and still do off and on, I was told that it was from swelling and infection, I usually notice it happening when I hold my urine to long, which is not good especial if you hasn't been long had the operation. I was prescribed what they call a relaxes, antibiotic, and a kidney protector which is used to help prevent kidney and bladder problem, plus pain pills. The Pain pills, and the pill for infections I take when needed, the other pills are controlled by my doctor.. Check your medication’s if one is not for bladder protection, and or infection, you may need to check with your doctor to find out why. And I hope everyone are keeping their regular appointment and doctor visit, your doctor visit is important in case other member of the body become effected from the medication and/or operation.Mick Northrop

If you go back and read my January 2006 posts, you can get a better idea what I went through. I made a mistake a month ago by posting a message that I was celebrating 6 months, but my 6 months actually falls on July 6th. Anyway, today, I have no continence issues at all. The only difference I see is that I can no longer hold as much in my bladder as before surgery. I have never had an accident

because of this, and I attribute that to the fact that I am diligent about doing my daily kegel exercises. What did you mean when you said your husband hates what he is facing? Mick Ann Meili wrote: Some minor complications in the hospital and he is still there for another day or two. The drain they put in came out and all the buzzing the nurse could not get anyone to come for over an hour. The pain from the gas is better but he hates the catheter. He is glad the cancer is out...but hating what he is facing. I told him to look at it a little at a time, the drain bag comes out tomorrow, today he was given solid food. Then he leaves the hospital, gets through the weekend and gets

the catheter removed. After that who knows. Mick, am curious how you are doing now with incontinence. Any one else have the robotic surgery that can offer some recovery feedback?Mick Northrop wrote: Ann - I had robotic surgery in January and it went very well. The best advice I heard in reference to what I should expect for recovery time was "don't try to compare things day to day, but rather look at things from week to week." This might not mean a lot to you right now, but it will make sense in a couple of months when you look back on all this. It really helps you mentally to have this mindset from the beginning. Good luck to both of you and keep in touch.Mick

Ann Meili wrote: My husband had robotic surgery yesterday in Houston. He will be released from the hospital tomorrow and will go directly to the hotel affiliated with MD . The surgery went well, he absolutely hates the catheter and is also not too fond of the drain. They will not give him solid food until he passes gas. Catheter comes out on Tuesday, doc says maybe a month with incontinence problems. We shall see. We Made Changes Your Yahoo! Groups email is all new. Ann Wish you and your hysband the very best of luck. Tell him to never second guess his choice as all treatments can have bad effects. Again a prayer for a fast recovery is in order tonight for you husband and it will be done. SamAnn Meili wrote:
