It must be so helpful when the kids help out. It makes it so much easier for

you. You will love the locks. Mom use to go tinker with the door and go do

some thing else when she couldn't open it.

Hope your week is better this week.

Hugs,

Donna R

Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in

a nh.

She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine.

You are so sweet, Donna.

Tonight Don talked through the whole period of time for watching a movie,

and I finally had to cut him off, because he was so scrambled he wasn't making

sense, and what sense he did make he was going around in circles.

I fix his pants with pads regularly, help him with his bath, and feed him on

time. I am always kind and respectful to him. When I cut him off tonight I

asked if he would like to watch TV now? He wanted to.

Things are better now. Last week was very hard, and I know much more of that

will

happen full time in the future.

My daughter went shopping Friday, and my son came over and installed a very

tough lock on two doors. Don feels hurt that he is shut in and I told him, " I

love you so much I want to protect you. " In a lucid moment when he felt that

way I told him what he had done, and he remembered it. I said, " Honey your

eyes were wild. " He agreed that they may have been and went on the say, " Let

me tell you, it was wild! It was terrible! " I told him, " I am so sorry. I

can't imagine what you must be going through, and I know it is frightening. " He

said, " It can be sometimes, and was that day. " He wasn't even locked in yet.

He has accepted being locked in.

Love you a whole bunch,

Imogene

Imogene,

Well, you sure handled that well. So sorry to hear it may get a little

hairy for a while. He did come back home and that was a good thing.

Hope the breathing helped and you always do good.

We played hide and seek yeaterday. I put the keys on the table

between us, and Don took them and put them in his pocket then,

took a nap. I couldn't get the door open, (so he thought. I have

another set) If I used the key and layed it down he again put it in

his pocket. I told him as long as I am up I will be glad to leave the

keys where he can get out once in a while, but not at night.

Well, today, I am keeping the keys. No more cat and mouse games with

them.I don't want to make him feel as if he is in detention, but do

have to protect him. I tried to explain it was because I love him.

Are we having fun yet?

Love a bunch,

Imogene

June, believe it or not, he has accepted a fake key that came in the

mail to win a car. I gave it to him and told him it would balance the

car door opener. If we are shopping, he often likes to play the man

roll and open the trunk for me. But, even that, he has almost

forgotten which button to push and can't push it hard enough.

But, he has one key now. It gives me a chuckle when I am alone.

Today, my daughter, , came over and brought us some prepared

meals for the freezer, and a wonderful pot of chicken soup. We sat

and visited in the living room, and I saw Don lurking behind the

doorway, so I invited him to sit with us. He made some derogative

comment, that I didn't quite catch, and just let it go.

He asked if we wanted water, and I showed him my cold water, and he

sat down, then said well where is my glass? I teasingly told him he

could share mine, and he got real ugly. He didn't want my water!

He demanded to know what is going on? I told him I was telling

how loving Sharon was in offering to care for him if it is

ever needed. He demanded who is cooking all of this up? How many

people are involved in cooking this up? I made a brief comment that I

love him.

took the cue and said it was time for her to go home as she

had cold meat in the cooler bag in the car.

Don was down right paranoid, and I was glad she saw it. I reassured

him and explained simply that we love him and will do all we can to

take care of him. I said wasn't that sweet of to bring us

food? Then changed the subject.

June, I did read the fake key idea some time ago, but wasn't sure Don

would accept keys that didn't work. We have oodles of keys. That one

just happened to be right there, and I told him it would help balance

the door opener. So he is using it. But, dear, thank you very much,

as someone else may come to the key situation, and will be glad to

have heard of it, as I was.

Love a big bunch,

Imogene
