Guest guest Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Hi, it's great to have found a group with fellow bronchiectasisers. I have minimal bronchiectasis as my lung doc puts it. In the lower left lobe and progressed now into the right side, middle lobe I think. I cough up very little sputum, once or twice a day, roughly about 2 - 5 teaspoons. I guess that's minimal. I never cough, I am sensitive to certain fumes, cleansers, plastics etc. I need to go on antibiotics every 3 mnths or so. Sputum has been pink lately so I assume another infection is in the waiting. I cough up blood about once a year. I have a flutter device, I rarely use it as it seems to aggrevate the bleeding. I get very little support from the respirologist. Every thing I know re bronchiectasis I found in books and recently years on the web. I did have a bronchoscopy/lavage and CT done November last year, the respirologist is keeping an eye on things. Many of you exchange ideas in regards of nebulizers. I just wonder if this would benefit me. Even though my symptoms are not as severe as some of you, I find it embarrassing being in someone's home and I go to the bathroom to do the noisy percussion and coughing up stuff. If I don't I end up w. a major infection. I avoid visits, I use excuses why I cannot go. Just wondering if I use a nebulizer maybe I can do this at home and no more problems for the rest of the day? Sorry for rambling. I don't get much help from my doc. He seems to be more into asthma, he has a lot of printed material re asthma. I don't have asthma or any major allergies. Thanks, Karin Quote
