Guest guest
(yet, another member suggested a 'laser cane') Carolyn's husband has a laser cane (and there are laser walkers too) which helps when our LO's " freeze " when walking. You tell them to step over the line. Guest guest
I don't know ... it's a visual thing... When they freeze you tell them to step over the line and then they unfreeze... But does it work? Good question... Here's one study result from 1999: http://www.rochester.edu/pr/releases/med/counihan.htm And there are current trials going on now... but exclusions are moderate to advanced dementia... > > OK, I am stumped here... how is this supposed to help mom when she freezes? > because it gives her point of reference? > > Hugs, Pammie, proud daughter of the " Little Queen " , 76 years old, Diagnosed > with LBD in the fall of 2007, currently taking Avapro, Aricept, Risperdal, > Foltrin, Verapamil ER, Nexium, Prednisone, Ketoprofen and Boneva.
