Anyone have some success stories to share about taking a risk and having it work out o.k.? Sierra: I work with so many people in your position -- people who stay for the paycheck or benefits, but are not fulfilled or happy in their work. Research shows that 85% of people who leave their jobs actually leave because of the relationships at work and not the actual job. I would ask you to break that down and see what it is that is truly making you unhappy and stressed at your work. Here are some questions to consider:Is it the actual job itself or is it the lack of support and people conflicts that makes you dread your work? Are their other possibilities within the organization? Is remaining where you are empowering you or disempowering you? What would it take to be empowered? Is your marriage solid -- if so, does your husband have good benefits that you can tap into while you make some changes? Who do you need to know or talk to in order to find new opportunities? Personally, I am all about being empowered in the best ways we can. So what would that take for you? Each person is different and will have unique answers. From a health standpoint, you know as well as I do that stress is not good for RA. Our bodies are like chairs -- they are designed to only handle so much stress before those legs start cracking and that chair begins to break down or the legs even fold underneath it. It's the same with us when we carry stress loads that are too heavy for our bodies. This is not how we are designed! I find it very exciting that you are open to possibilities and have the resources to have a " transition period " . That's kinda like having a blank canvas to paint whatever you'd like for your future. Get clear about your ideal job and paint something wonderful that works well for you and your family! Choices are a beautiful thing and I am glad you have options! Woo Hoo!
