Don't mind at all I am 43. And thank god for this surgery I thought I

was going to have to go on disability. But now my legs are just like

they were before all this started.

I had my 1st surgery in '99. I was in the hospital 10 days, it had taken me

that long before I could urinate on my own so I could go home. For me it was

very painful, I had a morphine pump for a few days, but still managed to

walk 4 days after the surgery. I was back to work as a firefighter a year

and 3 months later. Just goes to show ya that each person is different and

outcomes will be different.

| Hi all,

| I am a 28 year old female. It looks like I will have surgery to

| release my tethered cord in the next few weeks. My surgeon tells me

| it is quite a simple operation as I have only a thickened filum with

| no other problems. Has anyone had surgery for this condition before?

| I am told I will probably be on hospital 5-6 days and then maybe 6

| weeks before going back to work?? I am curious to know from you what

| it was like for you after surgery??? How did it feel?? Was it a slow

| or fast recovery?? What was the pain like?? I realise every

| individual case is different but I need some re assurance that

| everything will be Ok. I am quite scared!!

| Thanks

Wow ......it is surgery then?

I share the same surgeon as Nina and he's told me that my stay will

be a week to 10 days, maybe a little more but that's because I live 3

hours from where I'm having surgery!

I wish you all the luck in the world and hope all goes smoothly
